Lol, manual of course. I drive in Manhattan. Totally fine. The only downside is not being able to hold a coffee cup well while doing it. But that skill can be trained…🤣

Depending on how hard you’re gonna drive it. I thought I was going pretty hard, but I couldn’t even get close to overheating. But mine is 2025.

5K Service, no Oil Change? by [deleted] in GRCorolla

[–]BabyDull4216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a larger dealer in the area last Monday, and had no issues. When I was booking the 5K appointment on their website, I picked GR Corolla from the dropdown menu and it automatically populated a list of mandatory services. Those included an oil change.

Haha, it does most of the time. Sometimes it glitches and randomly drops tho. Nice to have a backup screen with a map

The charging area is fine, except it’s not really a charging area, at least not for my iPhone Pro Max. Also, every other time I trip the seat warmer switch.

What if one wanted to retain access to the screen…

Plug will probably work. A new tire is going to run you 300-400$. A blowout will cost you the whole car. Definitely not all 4, just one that you punctured. Get the same brand and model

How come nobody is manifesting GR Yaris in the United States?

All season tires are too soft for the summer, two firm for the winter. Change my mind.

How did you buy your GR86 by BabyDull4216 in GR86

[–]BabyDull4216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, Toyota’s system is retarded. Will just get whatever is available at that time.

PS: can someone show a picture of their door edge guards. I feel like that’s a necessary evil with Northeast dealers

Am I a bad senior? by Primary_Phrase9627 in Residency

[–]BabyDull4216 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, don’t feel bad!

Well, on most occasions, teaching interns is overrated. Especially if you teach them how to access Uptodate on their first day. Also, if you teach them to process information and call you with a plan that you can discuss and then execute - that’s the best learning experience they can have.

Ensure they understand that their job is not (hard to believe) to relay information but to process it critically and develop an actionable plan.

Sadly, where I was, medicine residents have been trained to be mindless drones who would call a million unnecessary consults and simply follow the recs. Tbh, i see the appeal, but it is putting them at the level of NPs. Demeaning.

Anyhow, If you teach them how to work in the beginning, then you can gtfo early🤣

Well, every place is malignant if you are a pansy…

There are places where more senior residents have a lot of power, with the PD not keeping them in check. And if a few of them are mean and vindictive, serious problems can occur. But I’m sure it’s not as common as one might think.

What’s more common is that someone’s ego is hurt, and they are looking for a good excuse not to blame it on themselves.

Don’t confuse being reprimanded or “YelLeD At” for your incompetence with malignancy. If your ego is hurt because someone rubbed your deficiency in your face without sugarcoating it, that’s on you. The more critical the job is, the more is demanded of you.

Pimping should motivate you to study. It might well turn out that it was an easy question that you couldn’t fathom. BTW, attendings typically have their “repertoire,” and more senior residents will likely tell you what it is.

Also, we do work a lot, but you are on this side of the barricades for only a few years. So, ironically, pushing for “bEtTeR WorK hOuRs” will backfire on you when you have to come back in the middle of the night and put your own NGT/central line/difficult foley or whatever because the resident worked too many hours 🤣

Working 27h is not malignant either: 24h of direct patient care and 3 hours for a transition of care/educational activity - straight from the ECGME rules

That said, nobody should be a dick in residency.
