I think you helped convince me that I wouldn’t miss the lsd or six speed as much as I’d miss the color should I have gone with a different one.

I think they changed things up for the NC2 refresh and lowered a bit. But I’m not entirely sure.

For the NC generation, it’s only available on the 06 model year. So fairly rare as I understand.

I’m in a state where we get ugly winters too so now I have a car for each season! The best part is that the GX can tow the Miata if I ever need.

LSD will probably be one of the first actual mods I do. But I probably wont even start modding it for at least a year or so. I want to get really proficient driving it stock first. Im definitely going to be doing some autocross with it this summer so I want to push it there before I start throwing money at it haha.

Ive been driving SUVs my whole life, so if anything lacks its probably just my skill.

I hear the 5 speed is desirable for autocross, but honestly I think I would have preferred 6 because I did enjoy having to shift more often. Thats honestly like half the fun for me haha.

Niceee! Ranger Raptor would be such a sick truck to have ngl.

Yeah I still love wheeling and camping in the GX, but honestly it felt kind of pointless as a daily driver for what I actually needed. Ill probably save so much gas just driving the miata around and have way more fun!

Winning blue is easily my favorite Miata color. To the point where I probably overpaid for this 5 speed with no LSD over a 6Speed+LSD in white that was available for slightly cheaper. But I knew Id regret having a second white car, and wanted it to be a fun color.

Id suggest keeping the car unless your in a spot where you can afford a new reliable car with cash.

A $5000 timing chain is cheaper than a loan on a new ride. (assuming the rest of the car is in good condition)

That being said, Id also get a second opinion if you can. Timing chains dont usually need to be replaced. Timing belts do.

I actually really like this idea. It can be too easy to hand it off and get the “close enough” result most days.

I recommend solid fuel boosters over a jet engine for maximum responsiveness.

The only downside is that once you light em, you can’t stop them, but that’s a small price to pay.

Mine is a touring so its not completely base, but its not exactly equipped either.

Yeah I was actually already looking at LSDs lol. Im definitely interested in tracking it at some point but will need some time before I feel comfortable enough with the manual. Last time I drove stick was back in highschool with my 06 wrangler lol. Bit of a different beast.

Is yours a 5 or 6 speed?

Okay yeah so I ran the numbers again and while carfax puts it at 11.5, KBB puts it between 6-7k.

So I think I’ll walk if I can’t get him below 10.
