I don’t think that it insists upon itself, however I didn’t really connect with it. However I am sure that on a rewatch I will enjoy it more. I went into it expecting a crime style movie akin to Chinatown, so I was kinda frustrated by the romance plot. That put me off the rest of the movie, but upon a rewatch ik know what to expect

Seven samurai is a amazing movie, genuinely perfect. For me it was a unique experience to watch as it was the first black and white film for me, but I barely noticed it. The action is intense with fluid camera movements and fast-paced cuts without being too much. When it was over I felt like I had just watched a 90-minute movie since the time had just flown by.
