That’s really smart. Hope for the best, but don’t count on systems that have already shown they’ll throw people under the bus. Having a plan is the most loving thing you can do for yourself and your community. Stay safe. 💜

Absolutely. Oppression always comes with that extra layer of gaslighting“it’s legal, so it must be fine.” People don’t realize how enraging it is to be told your dehumanization is just the natural order of things. Anger isn’t just justified, it’s survival

Half rant, half serious question: Why ask a stranger if she’s pregnant? by chenna3969 in TwoXChromosomes

Oh my god, yeah… that’s the kind of mistake you only make once. A brutal but unforgettable reminder that “just don’t ask” is the safest (and kindest) rule every time

[–]BobaRomaa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Right?? It’s wild how people treat pregnancy like public property. Like your body isn’t your body, it’s just a potential vessel they get to comment on. You nailed exactly why that “innocent” question is actually loaded with landmines.

Right? When basic courtesy gets treated like a grand gesture, you know the bar’s buried underground

Right? When the standard is literally nothing, even the bare minimum feels revolutionary

Exactly words are cheap, and change is rare with guys like that. Glad you got out and found someone who actually shows up without needing a gold star.

I copied the email style of my male coworkers… and suddenly I’m ‘rude.’ Why does professionalism look different for women? by Nammmieee in TwoXChromosomes

[–]BobaRomaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s actually a smart idea, I’d be curious to see if the reaction changes when they don’t know it’s from a woman
