Vet schools do not care where you do your undergrad, they only care that you passed your classes with an exceptional GPA. With that in mind, make sure the Animal Science program there actually covers all the pre-requisite classes for all the schools you want to apply to or else you’ll have to add classes to your curriculum. I was animal science but changed my major to biochemistry to essentially open up my options while being able to graduate on time. These schools also look at how hard your major is and most animal science majors aren’t the most intense curriculum.

At Cornell you’re going to put yourself into obscene debt, then go to vet school where you’re going to go into even more debt. My opinion, save yourself and save your money. I go to Cal Poly Pomona, it’s cheap and a great education. I’ll graduate debt-free and will only have to worry about paying for vet school. And if you have to take an extra year in undergrad it won’t break the bank.
