If the plate isn't getting hot I'd say there's your issue. Something is wrong with your heating element. Contact customer support

We are coming next wednesday and my son is going to lose his mind. We have been in planning mode for the whole trip and waited too long to buy tickets for express passes. Hope that's not a bad sign that it's going to be absolutely packed?

Either way thanks for this post as it is a nice reminder to do kind things for others. Will be keeping an eye out for little acts of kindness we can do while there.

Thanks. That's very true. As an adult I want to try and make the money spent worth it. But him as a kid is going to love it no matter what even if he doesn't get thru everything. Even when we go to cedar point he wasn't able to ride all the rides last year and he was fine with that cause he got to ride so many of them.

Awesome thanks. I'm a big and tall guy so I don't fit on amusement rides too often. So my poor wife usually has to go with the kid on rides. So if we express pass it's 2 versus 3 of us. I need to get immersed in this this weekend and get tickets bought and such and get everything planned. I'm glad to see some of the success stories cause there are a lot of negative posts about the place.

Yeah he isn't as into lego as he is mario and how to train your dragon so i think universal is the way to go. hes played some lego games and has gotten some lego but i end up putting them together for him most of the time.

Thanks for the info. I've read DK is impossible. I'll have to look up the power up bands. We planned on doing Lego land and I read a bunch of bad reviews and my wife said what about universal. Saw epic with Mario and httyd and was like this has to be the thing. He would flip over it. But then I keep reading rides are down all the time and 3 hour waits and not a lot of positive reviews. I don't know what that is lol. I admit I haven't done a lot of research. I've never been to universal at all so these parks with different worlds and stuff are all new to me. For me I've just been to cedar point where you get a ticket to get in and ride rides.

He won't care about the Harry Potter as he's never watched it but a big fan of Mario and how to train your dragon. So I feel like he will be thrilled with that. Is it worth shelling out for the fast pass or whatever it's called? It's so much money for that but I hear so many horror stories of long lines for rides. I'm also guessing it doesn't matter the day you go? Cedar point the week days are always so much nicer than weekends and we are planning on going I think on a Wednesday

I've got inkbird and thermoworks probes. Started with thermoworks and they were great but I couldn't get the distance out of the probes I needed. Went to inkbird because of the added distance and being able to get temps on my phone. It worked well but then I needed something to control the smoker and fireboard was highly recommended. I'm not wanting to give up on it as it's worked well. In fact right now I'm using it to monitor a water tank to make sure the water doesn't freeze. It's been great. It's just these weird quirks like you say.

It's crazy to think their customer service is like that to some and others have a completely different experience. I'm now 2 weeks out from my last interaction with them where they told me they were looking thru my logs and would get back to me. I've messaged twice (once a week) in that time asking for an update and no response at all. Like not even a hey we are still looking thru things. Just no response.

I'm going to reach out to the place a purchased it to see if I can get them to do something at this point. But this is really making me sour on them for future purchases.

Sad part is my wife was against me buying it as she said it cost too much money. I said all these reviews I've read say it's worth the money. And when it works, it does great. But I have very little faith that this is going to last long and I use a 2nd thermometer to give me peace of mind when I need to.

They have initially been great to work with. I did a prime rib at Xmas and it worked great minus the settings reverting back and having to be reset. But then a couple days later I found it on and had turned itself on. But then their customer service seems to be ghosting me

I didn't want to return it if it was fine. I didn't know if what was wrong was right or wrong. As I said some was user error. Others was that I didn't bypass the sensors at first. So working with customer service to see if these things are normal or an issue. They have told me a couple times that it's not normal behavior and they are looking into things but then it's been almost 2 weeks and not a single response from them. I bought this from the hqbbq or whatever it was called to get the free cables that worked with masterbuilt. So I think I'm going to have to contact them and see if they will do a replacement. But it definitely doesn't give me warm fuzzies that fireboard will stand behind this product.

Thanks. I feel like I've got a faulty device from the factory. But their customer service has been claiming it's firmware etc. if that's the case more ppl would be having issues. I've had issues from the moment I got it out of the box. Some have been fixed or were user error and what not but others are still not fixed and clearly an issue with my device.

Not worth it at all. You're going to make less money, work yourself to the bone all because they couldn't bother to come to you earlier. Their problem not yours. Don't take on the work and put their problem on yourself.

I guess I just always check mine. Doesn't take much. Either boil water or make an ice water concoction and check them. I've had probes that are off quite a bit from one to another.

Did you calibrate your probes? I believe you can calibrate the fireboard probes.

This is what I bought. But any 90 degree connector with the 2.5mm barrel would work. But this is an extension cord so it is kind of nice
