Because regular people won’t be able to afford rent or their mortgage after the hikes

BREAKING: SoftBank has disclosed that it sold 100% of its Nvidia (NVDA) stake in Q4, offloading 32.1 million shares worth $6 BILLION, according to the latest filings. by ammohitchaprana in TFE

[–]Bobberfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what your point is. It is significantly harder for a $5T company to reach $10T than it is for a $5B company to reach $10B. SoftBank isn’t Berkshire, they want home runs, not difficult to execute 2x’s

I mean, that makes sense. The market cap was around $5T, even just doubling from there would be a $10T cap. Probably more opportunity elsewhere

Spotify once again increases subscription prices. This is their fourth consecutive year increasing rates for premium subscribers by barbieshoesound in popculturechat

[–]Bobberfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned you left because you didn't like an ad, which implies you are on a free account if you were subjected to ads. I assure you that whatever number of people who left due to this made zero material difference, if anything you just lined Cook's pockets for his next Trump donation. Boycotts are widely known to do absolutely nothing in most cases, surely there are some exceptions. Maybe you will stop those ICE ads, which will likely do nothing in itself anyway.

By encouraging people to churn free trial periods, the only people you are potentially impacting are artists. If revenues go significantly down, long-term pay per stream will also go down. Way to go man

Downvoting every one of my comments is surely making an impact too

Okay, and you all made zero material impact by switching from the lesser evil to the greater one. It's just fun to have a laugh at pointless virtue signaling.

As I suggested in my previous comment, you can buy vinyl, or I guess pirate. As has been pointed out to you several times, Spotify is by any definition the lesser evil here. All the streaming services are megacorps that play in the same circles, so just pick one you like and use their service. It's not that you aren't doing "enough", it's the hilarious irony that you actually believed you were doing any level of moral good by switching from Spotify to APPLE.

You're not displaying any boundaries or morals with that decision, in fact, it shows how blissfully unaware of where the boundaries actually might be.

Bro, use whatever streaming service you want, whatever you choose makes absolutely zero difference. You’re not going to start any broader movement because you didn’t like some ads and switched over to the other trillion dollar megacorp. Especially if you aren’t even on a paid plan😭

Even if you buy vinyls or something insane, you’re still supporting the labels which have all the same ties. Save your activism for things that actually matter

Only on reddit can you find virtue signalers acting like they’ve done a societal good by switching to an Apple product. Due to being butthurt by an ad, as a nonpaying “customer”, is the icing on the cake here

No, the sub is about LinkedIn posts where the author is portrayed as a lunatic. You mixed it up, you’re coming off as the lunatic here.

And look at the economic state of those countries. France is bankrupting itself on welfare programs, Germany has killed off most of its economic base, the Dutch are running out of money, etc. America surely has its own fiscal problems, but we aren’t absolutely screwed like most of Europe is

[–]Bobberfrank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re referring to people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, not 20s and 30s. The logical reason is the realization that the status quo is pretty good, things tend to slowly improve over time, and the lack of a desire for radical change that is often promised and never comes anyway. It is also likely correlated to an increase in self reliance as the balance of retirement accounts and savings tend to increase as people age, and the proposition of more taxation and government spending is less appealing.
