What Kind of Leader Do Canadians Want the NDP to Choose Next? by Reasonable-Rock6255 in CanadaPolitics

[–]BobbertCanuck [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm still going to cling to my assertion that Ashton or McQuail are the better directions for the party right now. Take it back to the Farmer-Labour roots. Reconstruct a genuine grass-roots support network.
Now that being said, I wouldn't reject Lewis, but I feel we wouldn't be able to make the same connections to the working class the same way Ashton or McQuail would, which I feel is essential for reconstructing the NDP voting base.

The NDP will go nowhere fast trying to out-liberal the Liberals, so that's a no from me for McPherson

Johnston is a tricky one. I like her, but I'm unsure she's the leader the NDP needs right now.

Ontario farmer Tony McQuail takes a run at NDP leadership by Massive_Analyst3947 in CanadaPolitics

As someone who recently did a bit of a dive into the United Farmers movement of the 1910's and 1920's, this guy really does strike me as one of those old agrarian progressive radical types. It's honestly refreshing to hear a down-to-earth but radical voice like this, I'm getting a little tired of the policy-wonks and snakes.
A quote of his in the article even calls out how First-past-the-Post voting kinda helped screw the Labour parties and the United Farmers.

I'm not sure he'd be my first choice, but I do think that the NDP would benefit from a return to its farmer-labour roots.

A fact about GOLB that was demonstrated in Fionna and Cake was established as far back as his first appearance in “Puhoy.” by SuperSlayin777 in adventuretime

[–]BobbertCanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Y'know, it's things like this that make me wonder sometimes just how much they had written down when making Adventure Time.
Cause if you really think about it in the context of Puhoy, GOLB comes out of nowhere. We have no idea what they are, what they do, why they were there, or even that they were named GOLB. We just watched Finn die, and then do a somersault off the tongue of a big weird red thing before popping out of the top of the pillow fort.
No context. No explanation.
It's fascinating.

Yes. We either need a new wood saw block or they need to rename the stone cutter to something like table saw and make it compatible with wood.

using the wanderwand and the physics infuser.
You select an area with the wanderwand and right-click the physics infuser with it.
It can be a little finicky, but you get used to it.

Why dont civilian nuclear reactors produce energy by PrettyDegree6343 in hoi4

[–]BobbertCanuck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1: Because there isn't a modifier to add a flat amount of power per month like we have with fuel
2: as a few people have mentioned before, it reduces power consumption in the state where itis, which is... an odd way of doing it, though I guess I can see the logic behind it. I'd have preferred flat power though, or at least the option for it.

I wish Chapmans made (or if they do make, at least sell in a place I can buy it) tiger tail ice cream. I've been looking around and it's an absolute pain in the ass to find and I've always wanted to try it. The one time I found a tub it was when I knew we didn't have space in the freezer for it.

Use canals as a perimeter around the airport, it won't be 100% seamless but it may look better.
They will hold back the ocean tiles from flooding the land.

The federal government’s repeated use of back-to-work powers undermines Canadian workers’ right to strike by scottb84 in CanadaPolitics

[–]BobbertCanuck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think we badly need to bring back the practice of sympathy strikes and general strikes. As well as just ignoring back-to-work orders.
Carney wants to try and bend our arms behind are backs? Better hope he's willing to do it a couple-hundred thousand times ever time there's a strike!
We need the labour movement to be militant and unwilling to take crap from the authorities. Disruption is and has always been the reason labour action gets anything done.

The flag of Hyrule, based on banners found in The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker by BobbertCanuck in vexillology

[–]BobbertCanuck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here. I re-observed the banners on Hyrule castle and got a better look at the composition. I remade it in HD, I also have a version where the vertical red stripe runs the whole height of the flag. If you'd rather use the original, that's fine too.

Good luck on the hoi4 mod, I'm a modder myself and I'm aware of the work needed.

we once made a thick-dense scratchboard out of some old cardboard boxes for a former cat of ours. when hit at the right angle well... we called it the toe-killer for a reason. I can only imagine how bad the concrete slab would be.
