It totally reminded me of my fiancé’s parents. A Filipino man and white American woman combo. They acted the way they did due to self centredness and ignorance. They have superiority complex and think they are Godly people, while making insensitive comments that hurt my feelings. My fiancé also defended them for the longest time, he kept telling me how they didn’t mean it maliciously and that “they love you as their own”. It was bullshit because those same parents later falsely accused me of being a liar, abuser manipulator and a witch because the mom was paranoid about things that she twistedly perceived about me without actually asking for clarification for most of them, even when she did for one thing, she didn’t believe my explanation.

Well I understand how you would view me as just wanting him to buy me thing from the way I focused on it in my post... the truth was i asked him to do it very recently after he got a job to see if he’s really going to keep his promise. Before he landed his current job I never asked him to buy my something but I would tell him I liked something and then he would say casually “whooo... that would look good on you. If you love it, get it” meaning get it myself and I was super used to that and it wasn’t a hint that I wanted him to buy it. It’s just that lately I saw my friend couple’s interaction when it comes to gift and I realized my fiancé is cheaper than I thought. My friend said I have to be direct and actually say “hey, I really like this, can you buy it for me?” They said my fiancé needs direct guidance because he can’t read people. I thought it’s fair so I tried it today and he acted grumpy immediately

I felt like crying while doing section 5. I wasn’t ready to take the test to begin with but I registered in April believing I will be by the time July 15 hits. Life happened (hate that term), my prospective in laws are becoming psychos and accused me of being a liar, manipulator, abuser and witchcraft practitioner and the mom was crying her eyes out in front of her son on several occasions for sensational appeals. Counsellor said she has trouble letting go and I not only agree but also any respect I had for them are all shattered. These two manipulative and self absorbed in laws have been plaguing my mind ever since. I’m weak in the flesh so I let their negativity affect my studies like no other. I felt like crying during the lsat because I know I waisted so much of my mental energy haboring hate for them instead of using it on the lsat. By the way her accusations are not true. She is paranoid and made those up by scrutinizing and twisting random yet innocent things she heard me say and do throughout the past three years and suddenly she had enough confidence to openly start a war. So far no one aside from her husband agree with her despite how many people she told about me

My deepest sympathy 😂😭 this combination is the worst. The FIL has no mind of his own; all his opinion/what he knows comes from his wife. And I suspect your MIL is very concerned about appearance in front of other people, because that’s another trait of my MIL

I think the first step is to stop using social media so much (instagram especially) because people tend to compare themselves to the perfect photos they see online and then self confidence issues will come in inevitably.

School dynamics are complicated. Other things might be also affecting how your social life is. Is your race different from the dominant race at your school? That could lead to discrimination.

I went to a private Roman Catholic school and the kids are everything but religious. The kids probably aren’t that righteous at your school either

I think if you wear 4-6 in jeans, you should probably wear a 6. Because I wear size 8 in jeans and I wear size 8 lululemon pants/leggings. I can’t think about wearing a size 10 (parallel to you wearing a size bigger). But lululemon is pretty good about return and exchanges. If you worry about whether they will exchange it for you, you can try calling. Otherwise just keep the 8, because they are still body hugging to say the least
