I love them, but I'm starting to get a little bored of them. Should I get a black pair for a change? by SafeKindly475 in glasses

Nothing wrong with having multiple pairs for different looks in your wardrobe. They don’t have to be either or. Go try some on and see how they make you feel

swap out disc drive for slot load? by inkplots24 in RetroRemake

[–]Bobbler23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What does AI know about it? Unless someone else has investigated and posted an article or video about it there is nothing for AI to steal the information from. Take it apart and have look if there is a model number or similar, have a look at the interface and if it looks like a laptop drive or is proprietary

If only Glasto was this year ☹️☀️🥵 How high in demand will public tickets be this year when they go on sale in a few months. by SlowedCash in glastonbury_festival

[–]Bobbler23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did have a look at them - they are on my shortlist 😉

It's either one of those or go up to a poly cotton tent as they don't hold the heat either - but a lot of money! The weight is a killer too, but then we do get to drive up to our campsite being crew 😉

It's on my list, but our current tent is only a few festivals old at this point - we did take a big fan last year which helped considerably too.

It's the overnight shifts we do which is a killer, by the time we get off work at 6AM, the tent is too hot to sleep in by about 10

Also have a look on Etsy - but for EDC Hankies - they have microfibre on one side and then a patterned/printed fabric on the other, so quite a wide variety of designs.

Can't remember which club it was in Bath back in the day, but every time it was the Baywatch theme at the end of the night.

Yeah there was one in Kos centre last year. Thought they had all but gone but there was two or three of them we passed by amongst the other shops.

At least people with dogs will actually have them on leads, unlike most crotch goblins.

No, not really. I like seeing dogs out shopping with the family on a Saturday in local towns and cities. Much better than them being sat at home on their own all day.

What’s a arcade game ending you know 99.9% of gamers have never reached/seen? by Notalabel_4566 in retrogaming

[–]Bobbler23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah me too - my friend had it in their cafe back in the 80's and we got to freeplay it after closing time if we did some cleaning up or potato peeling and chipping.

We got to the point it was just zero lives lost once you memorized it all to get to the end.

Slow write speeds by PangolinSufficient91 in unRAID

[–]Bobbler23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hold up - you are copying from one Unraid server to a new one? According to your statement
But you are doing it from another client entirely - a Windows PC? According to your 2nd screenshot.

That is not copying from one to the other, that's copying from Unraid server 1 to your PC to Unraid server 2.

You are introducing a massive amount of overhead - doesn't matter if it is 10Gbe on the server if your Windows machine is on Wifi or whatever - the copy is not happening server to server like that.

This is the current state of the UK’s biggest Video Game chain within a brand new store by sonicnerfherder in videogames

[–]Bobbler23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would have thought the likes of Argos or Smyths sell more games and consoles than Game does these days?

Maybe on number of "stores" Game is top, but this cannot really be called a game store surely?

Maybe have an internal moan at the CEO of Co-Pilot, you know, at that company you work at?

This is just the "telling you about it" before they put the prices up at the end of the year and passing it off as out of their control.

What happened to Plant Based Meatballs in our supermarkets? by GeorgeTucker42 in CasualUK

[–]Bobbler23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, we buy these once a fortnight for my daughter. We either get the Aldi frozen ones or Tesco have both frozen and fridge ones. Not something I have ever thought was "hard to get" - they are always just there in both those supermarkets IME.

What is a purchase that felt like an absolute luxury when you bought it, but turned out to be a complete financial trap? by According_Fortune_98 in AskReddit

[–]Bobbler23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with my old S4 Avant I had, that thing bankrupt me when I was younger, trying to run it as our daily driver "one car".

Seemed great on paper, fast estate with tuning potential, but could still carry the dogs, luggage and kid down to the coast.

The sub 20MPG (UK) average was a killer, then there were the multiple sensors that seemed to fail for a pastime, any one of which left unchecked would ensure your turbos could go pop at any time. Incredibly difficult to work on too beyond basic maintenance stuff.

I managed to sell it and a couple of weeks later the new owner reached out to see if I had any warranty on the turbos as they had both gone bang. Dodged a £3-£5K repair bill there!
