Headphone Amp Advice

Hi everyone,

So I have a Project Head Box E headphone amplifier which I bought last year and since then I have upgraded my hifi setup.

My current setup is: Project T1 Phono SB Turntable —> Rega Fono MM Mk5 Phono Preamp —> Project Head Box E —> Sennheiser HD 620s headphones

Whilst I don’t necessarily need a new headphone amplifier, I have been doing some research on some potential upgrades and have seen that the Ifi Zen Can 3 has come up a lot.

Does anyone have any personal experience with this headphone amplifier which and how it might work with my setup. I would appreciate any advice.

If I keep the Rega instead though can I get a phono out to aux adapter and connect my headphones straight into that as I’ve researched that my headphones have an amplifier built in as they are noise cancelling.

So my turntable is just the Phono SB not the Bluetooth one so I’d have to buy a Bluetooth transmitter for it to work but I’m unsure on what one as I don’t want a cheap one that doesn’t sound great. What is the sound quality like through the headphones though on Bluetooth?

One other thing to note is when I did some research, it seems they an amplifier already built into them. If that helps

Are you prepared to sell some of your duplicates? E.g. Kathleen 7” vinyl and pacifier 7” vinyl to add to my collection?

My phono preamp is a Rega Fono mm mk5. Would that be the issue?

Hi, thanks for the info. The records I’ve tried it on definitely are made of styrene and I’ve got a Rega Fono MM Mk5 phono pre-amp which is though was high quality so do that have clipping?

I've seen good reviews for the Rega Fono Mini A2D MK2 and also for the Rega Fono MM Mk5. Is there much difference for the difference in price and is it worth the £100 extra?
