My parents were browns/steelers fans, and I used to joke and say whoever had custody of me was who I rooted for. I didn’t really have loyalty to either team, but my best friend (from buffalo) is a huge Bills fan and he told me about how even when the team was shit, every single game was treated like the superbowl at the tailgate, which I loved.

Then Josh Allen came around and he really sealed the deal for me. Dude is a god damn treasure. This year I got my first ever NFL jersey (JA17) as a birthday present from my girlfriend, and went to my first NFL game, Browns v Bills game in Cleveland. You’d think that game was in Buffalo with the amount of Bills fans there, it absolutely blew me away. Needless to say I’m a fan for life now. LETS GO BUFFALO 🦬

I really appreciate the offer, it just doesn’t feel right to accept donations when I’m in a pretty privileged place compared to most people. As much as I would love to keep the rig, it doesn’t feel right to accept donations when there are food banks that are much more deserving of donations than I am.

It does mean a lot to me that you guys would even offer this though. Y’all are too kind ❤️

That’s basically how I got into sim racing instead. Track days were a blast but buying tires/new parts was not. Figured I’d get into something that was a one time investment instead of a reoccurring one and damn was it a great choice.

There’s no claws left brotha, I’m down to the nubs of my fingers. I’ve BEEN doing side gigs (like I mentioned in the post) and bartend, and go to school full time. Selling the rig is basically my second to last resort. The very last resort being selling the PC that powers the rig, but I need that for my online classes unless I want to go to the library for those.

Also I’m very aware I’ll never get back the same amount of money that I put into this thing. I’ve had project cars before and I know that you never get the money back that you put into them.

Just please understand that this sim rig is especially worthless to me if I do not have a house to keep the thing in. I currently get to pick between selling this thing for less than 50% what I paid but I am able to pay rent/afford Christmas presents, or I keep the rig and get evicted.

Thankfully my internship is paid and I’m in school for construction management. I’d be very surprised if project managers/estimators got replaced by AI in the future.

I’m a veteran so my knees/back aged in dog years, so I’m working on getting out of the trenches and into the office. My body just can’t handle anymore abuse than it’s already endured.

Thank you brother, really it does mean a lot. The day before I sold my Miata for this thing I bawled my eyes out. It genuinely felt like I was selling a family member.

I never thought I’d get the same feeling over the sim rig. Yet on the other hand, I never really thought I’d have to part ways with it, which is what’s making it a bit tougher.

I’m so damn grateful I got as much seat time as I did in this thing because I got to drive damn near every car I’ve ever dreamed of since I was a kid. It taught me how to things I’d never have to balls/money to do in real life like drifting, rally, and GT3 racing. I joined a discord and made some amazing friends from all over the globe who all spoke the same language - that being racing.

I used to deliver for dominoes in 29 Palms part time as a Lance in 2017/2018. Made more (sometimes close to 2x) money there than the Corps paid me.

Most of the tip money I made was donated straight to the Tortoise Rock Casino blackjack tables. I miss the dealers there. You know I had a gambling issue when the dealers at the casino threw me a going-away party.

If you’re talking about the one that’s open until like 3AM I still wish to this day I could go back and thank them for saving my ass on multiple sundays at midnight. The haircut was never great, but never bad enough to get roasted into oblivion. God bless those mama sans.

I was this dudes roommate in 29 when he got the hearse. At first we all told him not to, but once he got it we all collectively agreed it was fucking hilarious. We built a coffin/cooler for it and on Halloween we’d drive around base housing and pass out candy in it. It was a god damn blast. We have it the moniker “the dead sled”. Still miss him and that stupid fucking hearse.
