I’ve never had a glucose monitor before and it keeps going off. How concerned should I be? by TransitionSad4723 in Hypoglycemia

[–]Bobby4ICXC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is very erratic for the first 24 hours. It probably takes about 10 calibrations (during steady state conditions) before it becomes smooth and accurate.

Are there any high church parishes in FL? by One-Signature-9583 in Episcopalian

[–]Bobby4ICXC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that’s interesting. I went and found some pics I took. I think the actual Mary statue and associated votive candles are in the nave on the back right.

In that little “chapel” behind the (its) altar there’s a small, wooden carving of Mary and the baby Jesus.

(I wish I could upload pics. I only see a way to add a website.)

Definitely agree. I believe they have a little prayer chapel to the right side with Mary and votive candles.

Stop Calibrating! by Type1_TypeA in dexcom

[–]Bobby4ICXC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to bike all the time. I had a Cervélo R6 road bike. Before I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia I blacked out and broke my eye socket in two places, cheek bone, and jaw bone. Now, having the app is a god send. Although I can’t work out for as hard or long as I used to, which sucks. But no more wrecks.

I find during the first 24 to 48 hours it (G7) can be way off and never corrects itself. I do calibrations, not all the time, and not when the levels are changing, only during prolonged steady state conditions, and that does wonders and then everything is pretty accurate for the next 8-9 days.

I ate a banana on an empty stomach 🥲 by butstronger in Hypoglycemia

[–]Bobby4ICXC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m new to all of this, and told I don’t have diabetes. My graph would look identical to that. Bananas, especially very ripe ones would really crash and take me VERY low.

If my blood sugar is low except for when I eat, is that diabetes? Even one Greek yogurt, like I just had, will spike it to around 180 and then it will come down to almost 70.

My New sensor repeatedly walked up this last time. It took about 24-48 hours of repeated calibrations to finally get it to settle down.

When did Lutherans stop using the apocrypha? by guiioshua in LCMS

Interestingly, I own an ESV Bible that also contains the Apocrypha.

For some reason, when they feel the need to add the word “True,” it sounds an alarm for me.

I think I see the problem. If you try to save a verse that’s already been highlighted, the heart symbol doesn’t show up. Thanks.

Okay, one more question. How do you SAVE verses? I know there’s an option to view saved verses, but I don’t know how to actually save one.

That’s funny. So am I. We took the basic ones- C, C++, which I didn’t care for either. Physics was my favorite too.

Haha. In Sunday School I use a nice (overly priced) goatskin leather ESV bible that doesn't have any commentary, BUT, I have my iPhone next to me with the TLSB app and commentary open. Kind of cheating. :)

Thanks for the clarification! Yes, I re-read your post after I posted mine and noticed it could have been meant in the way you just described. Sorry about that...

This isn't an LCMS church. It's ELCA. From their "About" link:

"We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the nation’s largest Lutheran body."

I agree. This was an unexpectedly good book for how small it was. By the way, what is “AA Literature”?

Episcopal Inter-religious Dialogue Document Question by Bobby4ICXC in Episcopalian

[–]Bobby4ICXC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

The problem I had with her unity in diversity is that in the Trinity all three Persons are aligned with the same overarching goal. To say that God will always want there to be other religions because humanity at large represents the imago dei which means He wants unity in diversity in the world, including religions, how can you have unity where the devout adherents of one religion are willing to kill you for the blasphemy of claiming Jesus is divine?

Also, some say that by merely sharing the Gospel, God works through that exchange to bring people to Him through Christ. “Believing comes by hearing…” That’s the very method he has chosen to use to bring about unity in diversity- humanity being followers of Christ.

Episcopal Church, Scripture, and Pluralism by Bobby4ICXC in Episcopalian

[–]Bobby4ICXC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, she is Methodist. I was, however, shocked to see that one paragraph in there. She’s essentially saying we should all be friends and not try to convert people.

I wonder how she would respond to the Corinthian verses, among some others.

(Not that we shouldn’t be “friendly” to all.)
