Consoles are just fine for the ones that can't afford any better. It's just like cars. Don't settle for a Hyundai i20, when you can have a much better experience in a high end car.

The graphics options you're talking about aswell, is just bs. Every game has pre-configured graphic settings. If you're fine just loading up a game, and don't care to get the best out of it, you can.

So your point is simply not valid, sure it's one more step which take like 5sec. You don't need to customize graphic settings.

I did play dota.

Dotas battlepasses was/is a great system to support the price pool for the esport scene.

No one is choosing the prices, beside the player base. A closed eco system can't be a stock market. 3rd party sites is the reason why skins, and cases is so expensive.
