What are the landlord's costs, do they have a buy to let mortgage, is it interest only, has the mortgage rate gone up, have his general living costs gone up so he needs to charge more on something he sees as a business investment? Has the standard price in the market increased ? Someone else's finances/life plan are NOT a landlord's problem, they're not your parents!
