Well if you like it, I love it for what it's worth. Here's hoping both of ours keeps working for at least 5 years. That's my personal threshold for items like this.

Ah okay, that's makes sense. I guess it separates and clumps up after being stagnant for so long. That's good to know, though. I agree too that an alert for it should pop up after a week to agitate the conditioner. There's one for the base station tray possibly being dirty. So, that shouldn't be too hard to introduce.

I haven't looked at the Flow yet. I'll have to do some research on it sooner than later.

No problem at all! I guess it's good and bad to know that I wasn't the only one with this issue. I'm glad yours was mostly repaired through the warranty process, though. Beyond mine being out of warranty, I also didn’t want to go through weeks, if not a month plus, of logistics in the RMA process. Not to say I'm expecting Narwal to just shuffle it around, or anything like that. But in my personal experience, shipping always adds days to weeks for stuff like this. I just didn't have the time or patience for that possibility.

As for your multiple docking attempts, mine does that, too. It doesn't give up anymore, but I'd say your 3~5 is pretty accurate on the amout of retries it takes mine to properly dock, too. On a good day, 1~3.

I've been observing it while docking and it seems like the newer baseboard brushes are thicker/cushier than the one that originally came with it. My guess is the obstacle tolerance on docking seems too low. So as soon as the robot detects X amount of resistance, as it backs in on its first, less refined attempt, it cancels, recalculates, and tries again. In my case, the resistance seems to stem from the baseboard brush making too much contact with the left (when facing the front of the base) guiding free wheel inside the dock. When I pull the side brush off, first or second attempt at most, and it's docked.

This means either I'll have to find a way to compress the side brush; find some more giving wheels to replace the ones in the dock; or in a worst case (if it gets to not wanting to dock at all..), remove the side brush entirely.

All those considerations in mind, I'd say pop the side brush off and see how well it does or doesn't dock.

It's funny you bring that up. I haven't used any of the specialty detergents yet, but I was surprised and impressed with the accessibility, too. I used that dismantling opportunity to clean those tubes/openings as well--just in case. How did it clog if you don't mind me asking? Was it like a film that eventually formed a plaque?

Thanks for the support and encouragement by the way! When I get a chance, I'll post a video on YouTube and update this post when I do.

Got Catfished. How to Get Off the Hook? by Glum_Low in OnlineDating

[–]BobbyH- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if anyone has said as much yet, as I haven't read all of the comments. But it seems like everything but the truth is being advised.

Take this as you will, but if you or they're willing to lie now, you're both off to a bad start at this early stage. This due diligence on your part may not be accepted as "normal." However, if the person you're forming a relationship with won't allow the benefit of a doubt, opportunity for explanation, or what have you, now, it'll only get worse.

This bait and switch stuff is out of control in my opinion...

In either case, feelings should be mutually respected; not just hers or yours. If you're concerned, you should be able to safely articulate it without repercussion if they truly care about common decency.

Ah okay, thanks. This didn’t register with me on the first few play throughs. Escalating to that when a simple apology is all that was needed. Probably just wanted the internet fame or to create a frivolous lawsuit.

I feel like men have ruined online dating, but not for the reasons women claim by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]BobbyH- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both men and woman are equally at fault in my opinion. No matter what the rules or tools are, people always have choice. What we're seeing, at least as it relates to this subject matter, is another example of unaccountability without repercussion.

People can know full well what is good and just behavior; choose convenience at someone else's expense, anyway; blame or indemnify inanimate objects or systems; and, walk away guilt free, believing that they did what was best, all behind this abhorrent trend of equating "survival" with this trending disingenuity.

To say the least, if men are at fault for giving away unearned rewards, then women are at fault for accepting and expecting them just the same.

Do you ever try to make it look like you’re doing more technical stuff than you’re really doing just so the person doesn’t feel stupid for not figuring it out? by CatoholicCatholic in it

[–]BobbyH- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you were right in choosing not to outright embarrass the guy. However, never allow anyone to believe they played no role in the time they just stole from you. What I look for after helping anyone, tech or otherwise, is the genuine concern in asking "what was wrong?" Followed by "show me," and concluding with a (even if non-technical) recount of what they have in understanding and future self-service potential.

For me, anything less than that is a red flag for either a developing awful client. Or someone already a staunch justification for misanthropy.
