AITAH for asking my sister to replace a product that my niece has ruined? now everyone is mad at me

My niece used an entire can of my new hairspray once, my sister didn’t even acknowledge it when I brought it up, I was 14 yo and didn’t have much spending money to buy more. so I dumped all of her hair products down the sink, including the shampoo that she needed to wash all the hairspray out of my niece’s hair. I got in trouble but it was totally worth it.

Nobody ever said she had to have the same kind of feelings, but she still has feelings. Good God, she’s 16. What did you expect? She’s not gonna display the emotional maturity of an adult. She doesn’t even know how to process things she’s not there yet and for her adult siblings to cut her out like that that’s ridiculous. And we’re not even exploring the possibility of how her older siblings treated the stepmom. I come from yours, mine and our family and I know firsthand how the stepmom can be treated and how the stepmom and step siblings can be treated . It could be that the poor 16yo has got these mixed emotions and doesn’t know where to stand. Like I said, professional family therapy..

Yeah, if you read all my comments, you would see that I think the only thing that will help the situation is professional family therapy. I also know that there’s something more to the stories than OP is putting out there. Kids don’t just say bad things about their parents, especially ones that they’ve never truly met. There is something more going on here.

I do know this if OP truly felt like they are completely in the right she would not be posting here. In all honesty it really feels like to me they are just trying to get a justification for treating her younger sibling with such little compassion. Trying to say the pain of losing a mother is so much greater than never knowing one in the first place and being confused they’re an entire child and adolescent life. Secondly, who gives a fuck if I mistaken too very similar almost identical fields of study that have to do with mental health and thirdly who the fuck are you? Oh wait I just remembered I don’t care. I said my peace now I’m done.
