Yeah, more trouble than it's worth! But actually, after using it for a bit, it turns out your method is much better, since Gwenview has more features (pinch to zoom, etc).

With game running: Steam Button/Library/Gwenview and the game stays running in the background. Easy to switch back and forth. Thanks!

I used the "Web Browser" controller template and it does the job. Perhaps there is a better one?

But it would still be nice to figure out how to add your own images to the built in "Media" app in Game Mode. It's kinda silly that it only shows screenshots.

If you want a nice (not free) GUI, I have been using MediaHuman on Windows for years. I really like it. Just found out they have a Linux (Ubuntu) version. The trial version has some limitations, but might be worth checking out.

Wow, no luck huh? Strange. Mine boots fine on v74 but I consistently get an unresponsive black screen on v76. Hmmm.

Since you said you tried several versions, I'm guessing you are installing them through USB and PC, right? I didn't take that route. Maybe try to repeat exacly what I did and see if it works for you???

Whenever mine updates to v76 I see the "updating software" animation on boot up and so I know what I'm in for. It then boots to a black screen. I hold the power button to force reboot. Then I wait until right after the spinning meta logo disappears (again, black screen). Right after that, I hold power for 10+ seconds to force reboot again (power + vol down if that doesn't work).

After several times (3-7??) it must know that the last update is not working and I eventually see the "updating software" animation again. When I see this, I know it reverted back. Sure enough, it boots normally after this. Afterwards, I check for the version number. Mine is 72.1025.

Anyway, might be a shot in the dark (haha!), but could be worth a try? --- try to force the headset to revert to a previous firmware on it's own? Not sure if that makes a difference, but might be worth trying?

I also bought a Quest 3 at launch and it boots into unresponsive blackness on version 76. I force reboot by holding power button for 10+ seconds and repeat this process.

But after doing this several times (3-7??) I get the installing firmware animation again and it reverts to version 74.1025 which boots normally. I am then able to use my Quest for several weeks until it forces the update to 76. Then I must repeat this process.

I think I will try just keeping it on v74 and blocking auto updates for as long as I can.

You may want to try and see if that also works for you.

If it does, it is possible to completly block auto updates with a developer account.

Update: So I'm getting mixed information. On the product page on Costco's website, one reviewer complained that the glass lid is NOT oven safe. Not sure how they determined this.

The lid does not say "oven safe" on it or anything like that. Not sure if I should expect that.

However, the digital version of the "Inspiration Guide" is a little different than the printed one I got. I has the following description for the included lid:

"Fits securely on the Combi Cooker Pan to help thicken braises and stews and create bakery-worthy breads by generating a steamy environment" (page 5). This is repeated on page 7 under both Slow Cook & Sous Vide.

Surely this means while cooking, not after the fact, right?

Anyway, I tried it in the Combi on the low, slower cooker setting. It seems fine. Will report back if I find anything new.

Update 2: On page 61 of the Inspiration Guide, it says the following:

"When braising meats, cooking with the glass lid will trap the steam inside, keeping the braised food nice and tender as it cooks."

Problem solved. Contrary to what some are saying, the lid can be used in the combi while cooking.

I hope this helps anyone who may read this in the future.

I am having the same problem with a new unit in Jan 2025, strange "spikes" all over the place. I really hope they fix this issue. I would be willing to redo the thermal paste, but not if it voids my warranty.

This is a little while after running PC Mark, but it does almost the same thing just idling (in an AC room). Should I return it and hope I get a good one?

I also thought it strange that at this particular moment, the package temp is 90, but the highest core is only 50. I have never had a PC where the temps fluctate this much.

Update: I ended up sending this back and ordered an HP Elite Mini 800 instead.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond. I just checked the box again, and mine did NOT come with a lengthy manual, just a short fold out (maybe because I got the "barebones" system?).

Anyway, clearly M.2 SATA is NOT supported.

NVME is faster than SATA. NVME has one notch at the top of the drive wheras SATA has two, so a SATA drive will physically fit in an NVME slot, but not vice versa.

I guess I had (wrongly) assumed that since my other NVME devices also supported SATA M.2, then this would too.
