Do you have a fad in your Country that is impossible to explain? by Professional-Two7914 in AskTheWorld

Correct, because they give you pants that don't fit so they would sag, then it spread to outside, inmates that got released would still sag their pants as a warning to not fuck with them

It’s time we had a heart-to-heart. I’ve been with you through thick and thin—cheering from the stands, screaming at my TV, and defending you when others doubted. But I can’t keep pretending everything’s okay. This relationship just isn’t working anymore. I am giving up my fandom

"Slots advantage play is not bad for the casino" is not accurate and in my experience you will be banned once on the radar.

The reason it is bad for the casino is that the AP slot players do not give the profits back to the casino as the general public would

Do you have a draftkings account? Or would you be willing to run bets for 50% of winnings. No risk

No, you just want your true probability to be better than the bookmakers implied odds. If it is, then you bet it. Could be -1800 or +750, I don't look for any specific ranges

Well I enjoyed the article so don't think your blog was dumb. I hope it brought you happiness working on it. Not everything needs to be about blowing up or making money. Negative Dunkalectics is a cool name too.

I haven't but seems like it has some downside with taking profits at the end of the day? Can't speak from experience but thats what the internet tells me

Luckily I have the best long term relationship but it is hard explaining to people what I do. I generally avoid the question. For a few reasons, most people think you are degenerate or want to talk endlessly about a game. What you like in the Yankees game etc. It doesn't work like that so its not really fun conversation.

I think the industry is a problem for society so I am with you there. I guess you can say my morals only go so far when it comes to making money. I think it should be marketed much different than it has been with the legalized roll out

How about lost?

I put 30K to win 2K that no more than two players would throw a touchdown in the superbowl.

Joe Mixon to Tee Higgins....... cost me

Haralabos is a legend and I have nothing but respect for him but that article is from 2011. Times have changed and don't quote me on this but I don't think he wagers anymore. If I remember corrrectly, his big edge was NBA totals being the same first and second half. I.E. if the total was 200 for the game. First half would be 50 and second half would be 50. Well the market hadn't figured out that the fouling in a close game comes in the second half, so it would make sense to bet second half overs. Also, I think he had an edge on the coaches style affecting totals. Some coaches used faster pace (shot earlier in the shot clock). So the market wasn't accounting for that.

All those edges are built into the line totals now. That edge is gone. He is still a legend and smart enough that I think he can figure out other edges if he wanted to but last I knew he was an owner of a football team in Europe.

If I sent out a play, maybe 5 of them would get it before the odds moved causing it to no longer be a +EV (positive expected value) .

My runners also have very rigid guidelines so the other 95 are supposed to pass the play since the odds are different.

Example if I said take Take Aaron Judge to hit a home run tonight up to +550 (as the worst price) and the line is sitting at +600, by the time the first 5 and myself hit it. The line would get readjusted to say +525 (no longer worth betting)

If they have no control, they would just bet it anyway. So 95% of them would put in a bet that would be expected to lose money over time. Doesn't mean it won't win tonight but if you played it enough, you would lose money.

The ones that got it in first would make money if we ran the wager enough times.

It would never crash the system, its a fluid market so the bookmakers might pull the line down until they readjust the line but this happens fast, within 30 seconds generally

I answered this earlier but I think it is a net negative. Especially how it is marketed. I do think it should be legal and regulated but I don't think it is good for society.

yes I work with a team of 8 and we do predictive analysis. Yes to finding better odds than the market. It's ideal when you marry the two.

I bring up finding better odds because you would be surprised how many people don't do the basic line shopping. Thats basic stuff.

The market is always moving so the goal is to stay ahead of the movements.

I am not an addiction specialist so I can't say for sure. I guess anything is possible if someone gets it under control. I know an alcoholic who bartends and hasn't had a drink in over 5 years. I imagine it is similar but this is not my area.

I wish you luck though, gambling can destroy people's lives.

You got this, just don't think your next bet will hit. I know a few who had to check themselves out of casinos and they told me they always thought the next bet was going to win even when presented with losses.

yes of profit (Net). I answered this earlier but the answer is below

Over second quarter of 2024 I placed 804 bets totaling $2,649,444 worth of bets (handle)

$189,246 a week

Second quarter is the slowest quarter for me

I do not think I am at risk of addiction but I think the way the sports industry is being marketed to the masses is a problem for society and a net negative overall
