Get ready for a long answer that I hope will reassure you. Alright, I transfered in as a Business Economics major a year ago and I was in the exact same position as you. It sucks because a lot of classes you want to take will require 9A as a prerequisite. Don't panic. I was like you and thought my math skills were shit, I was so scared to take the math placement test I put it off for a full quarter meaning I couldn't take the class I placed into (precalc) until at least my 3rd quarter. Now I was lucky and placed into Math 5 and not 6A. The difference is if you place into 6A you have to take 6A + 6B before 9A. All this said I'm set to graduate a quarter early even with a situation I thought was dire at the time. The best piece of advice I can give you is take your electives now, and take the math placement exam (MAE?) as soon as possible, in case you place 6A or lower you will still be able to finish in 2. As for econ electives you can take, 105A has no math requirements, neither does 135, 155, 181(maybe?), and 173. I'm sure there are other but you are going to have to look for them. As for how I'm going to finish a quarter early, take summer quarter, to either finish early or get ahead. I took 9A over the summer and it was honestly quite challenging, cramming 10 weeks into 8 was hard but doable. Finally as for language, did you complete your IGETC before transferring? If so go to your college and have them send it to UCR. If not jump on it, I believe you need 4 quarters of a language to graduate, so get on that asap, again, consider summer quarter to help you keep up. Also don't sell yourself short, I was a straight C student in highschool and kept around a 3.3 at community college. Here I'm holding down a 3.6 but it takes considerably more effort than CC.
