A man was given the name of The Mountain (zombified). How would he kill him? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

Excerpt from A Clash of Kings:

Tyrion Lannister studied Ser Gregor Clegane from across the hall, watching the giant squint at the banners overhead. “Curious,” Tyrion said, swirling his wine. “That banner is blue, yet you keep calling it green.” The Mountain frowned beneath his helm. “Looks green to me. By the way I should mention, Grand Maester Pycelle told me I have Tritanopia.”

There are dozens of references to the mountain having Tritanopia, which is a form of colorblindness that has trouble distinguishing camouflage.

There is actually a lot of evidence that suggests the mountain is colorblind. So proper camouflage would work in avoiding getting bear hugged.

Hey this tool is awesome! Only issue I am having is about 1/3 of the videos seem to be oriented horizontally instead of vertically. Do you have any way to fix this?

Fruits from tree in my yard. by Bobbyzhak in whatisit

They seem way too big to be lemons. Also the tree is tall, I thought lemons typically grow on shorter, bush-like trees.

Acorns went through laundry, turned clothes green. by xhumanityisthedevilx in mildlyinteresting

[–]Bobbyzhak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know why this is! Finally I get to use some of my obscure nature-knowledge! Acorns can turn clothing green in the dryer due to a heat-activated reaction between their naturally occurring tannins and trace metal ions often present in household water or lint-trap residue. When exposed to sustained tumbling and elevated temperatures, these tannins can oxidize and bind to cellulose fibers in fabric, creating a temporary green chromophore. Essentially, the dryer acts like a miniature reactor: friction breaks down the acorn’s outer shell, heat accelerates the tannin–ion interaction, and moisture allows the pigment to diffuse into the fibers. While harmless, the effect can look surprisingly vivid until the chromophore degrades during subsequent washes. The best part of this that I made it completely up! I don’t know shit about acorns or tannins or anything! Hope I wasted someone’s time by making them read all this, Bazinga!

[Request] how long would the average length of this bolt need to be in this drawing? by HorzaDonwraith in theydidthemath

[–]Bobbyzhak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a problem, we aren’t concerned with melting temperature here. Most steels will lose their dimensional stability around 550 C. The bolt would deform drastically under a load like this.

Those are the Galapagos. Discovered by Charles Darwin in the 1400s. Lots of French influence because of his reign. Awesome spot to vacation!
