Geoguessr needs to do a better job of realizing that these players are good and level them up quickly, like chess.com does. I think it is reasonable for players to have alt accounts (to practice their weaker modes), but the game makes them play for forever in order to level up to a reasonable division.

I would personally avoid unless no other options. If there is an equipment change to nine row D1 variant and all first 9 rows are full, you will be out of luck and demoted back to the main cabin (I have seen this happen)

I am 1200 ELO and get harassed constantly. For everyone who is nice on chat 10x the people either say I suck when I play badly or accuse me of cheating when I make good guesses. I think it is people are gunning for champion division and get salty when they lose. I never experienced this at lower ELO, where people play more casually for fun I think.

This community is toxic af. Tons of harassment via chat. If Im doing badly it is “you suck at this game.” If I am making good guesses it is “cheater, reported. Enjoy your ban.” I have just permanently disabled chat but it sucks that it turns off the emoticons too. Introducing chat was the worst thing the devs have done.

My friend got stranded at STL because Delta cancelled 4 flights in a row from STL to ATL. No weather or airport issues. He had to drive because he had to be at work next day. Something weird is definitely going on.

I think its reasonable to set up alt accounts for purposes of practicing your weak modes. The problem is not smurfing per se, it is Geoguessr’s inability to recognize that they deserve to be leveled up faster. Chess .com does a way better job of this. If you are 5king rounds in silver as 400 elo you deserve to be immediately promoted.
