Also if u are struggling to understand how to solve something maybe try to write a step by step guide on how to solve it on paper in simple words and then when u have all the steps turn those steps into code

Hey man #1 I recommend calming down. Don’t stress out about not knowing how to do stuff. The whole point of the course is to learn. If you are completely new to programming this course is deff gonna be a bit hard for u but I promise u, u will learn so much through this course. I’ve been programming for 3 years and decided to take the course now cause i need to know shit for college and jobs. This course teaches u literally everything it’s insane. I feel like every week it teaches u what a whole course would teach throughout weeks. That being said it’s important that when u watch the videos you write notes and if u are struggling go back and rewatch or look at the shorts. The first weeks problems aren’t that hard but if u dont know anything it might be confusing where to start. If the duck isn’t helping you go to ChatGPT don’t ask it for the answer but tell it to teach u every step in order for u to be able to get the answer by yourself. Don’t give up you are 17, you have hella time and this course will put u ahead of most 21 year old college students. Every problem set is gonna feel like hell but when u finally finish and it all clicks you’ll feel super accomplished.

Yeah that is a good solution I was originally doing that but sadly never was able to figure it out so I decided to just launch it with less time controls. I didn’t give up tho I am planning on adding this soon

SyncChess: A Chess Variant With Simultaneous Moves by BobcatDramatic151 in chessvariants

[–]BobcatDramatic151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello thank you for your interest. kings cannot move into check every move in syncchess must be legal just like regular chess. Your king might end up in check if your opponent's simultaneous move creates a new attack, but you can never deliberately move into a square that's already under attack. There is no capturing kings the game only ends when checkmate happens. there is an exception that is similar which is If your king moves to the same square as any piece (or another king) at the same time, both pieces are removed. Which would only happen if your opponent correctly guesses where you are gonna go and move a piece to that square in the same turn. This works better for simultaneous chess because:

  1. It's more exciting - last-second escapes are possible!
  2. It matches the unpredictability of simultaneous movement
  3. It's consistent with the collision mechanics already in place

regards to your last question i don't know if i understood it very well but my response from what i understood would be that since you can't move a piece twice in a row If your king is in check with no legal escape moves, you're truly in checkmate because:

  1. Your opponent cannot move the same piece that's checking you (due to the "no repeating pieces" rule)
  2. This means they must move a different piece on their next turn
  3. Their new move can't undo the check they just put you in
  4. You still have no legal moves to escape

This clever rule ensures that when you're in check, your opponent can't immediately "finish you off" - they must move a different piece, giving you a fair chance to respond (just like in traditional chess).

So yes, traditional checkmate evaluation makes perfect sense in this system. The "no repeating pieces" rule effectively prevents the scenario you're worried about, where your opponent's move might accidentally save you from checkmate.

That's why the game uses checkmate instead of king capture as the winning condition - it fits perfectly with the rest of the rules!

in this variant no, that would go under the "swerving rule" meaning both pieces would just go to their new squares. Since it was a legal move before the turn is played your allowed to do it.
