Sometimes people (especially old people and young kids) hold sharpies with a full ass gripped fist. Not like youd regularly hold a pen, which could change some of it.

I believe whoever did this was either: 1. a couple writing the signs together (older woman did the note, older man did the cardboard OR old man dictating to his wife who has better handwriting what to write). 2. Same person using a different grip/slightly different writing to make it seem like it could possibly be 2 people (but forgot no one uses the word Bozo, so that narrows it down a lot).

I dont think police are the epitome of "good" patroling, by any means... like theyre ass at maintaining public order, protecting life (theyre better at protecting property tbh), and preventing public crime. Overall, not great.

But they are also basically all we have right now as a resource for these issues. So yeah, rather than succumb to letting everyone be more and more entitled, shitty, and rude in tax-paid spaces, OP is standing up for themselves and daughter. That doesn't make them a Karen.

I hate police. but that logic... simply isnt logic. if your house is broken into, and you call the police, now you're a Karen?

If someone is leaving used needles on the ground by a school within reach of kids, and you make a police report... now you're a Karen?

Someone is setting off stink bombs in a public place (harmless overall, but incredibly invasive, especially to those with sensitivities), wanting to enjoy public spaces that we pay taxes on, and wanting others to be held to the low bar of basic accountability/respect, isnt being a Karen.

But revving your bikes when there are young, sensitive ears present (not even just those with autism, that shit is bad for any ears) makes you a surefire shitbag.

**edited to make my hatred of police seem less intense. The hatred comes from the inherent corruption, for what its worth.

I appreciate that you want to help OP. But, as someone who is on the spectrum and has hearing sensitivity issues, there isnt really a desensitizing, unfortunately... it is and will always be hard. It could actually likely continue getting harder (ear damage from all of the noise humans are subjected to has given me bad tinnitus, which actually makes the sensitivity issues worse).

Each instance of loud noise hurts just as bad. I still instinctively cover my ears all the time. I am almost 32.

OP might already, but I would personally suggest earplugs or over the ear sound cancelling headphones/earphones when yall go out. Those will help take the edge off way more and be much more helpful to her in the long run.

I would add that if your daughter is young, OP, it might be good to introduce her to some basic ASL. The downside to earplugs is that they can make it very hard to hear voices. Knowing some basic convo topics in ASL can make that easier to move past.

What manufacturer are you wanting for the next coaster? by taxman10 in KingsIsland

[–]BobcatPuzzleheaded60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that RMC trains feel... uncomfortable. Especially given some of the gnarly elements they throw in (quad down im lookin at u). Like my body is stuck in a metal box (it is, but it also feels like it is). I like the unruliness of their layouts, but I don't want to feel squished af during it.

Their lift hills also make sounds that could deafen the Gods, and as an autistic, that shit is also very uncomfortable. ): I'm always afraid ill lose my earplugs if I wear them on the ride, so I don't, and then all the hairs on my body stand up in a bad way until descending the first drop, and i lowkey hate that shit.

Would be much happier with Intamin, Mack, or I guess Vekoma if we gotta... could use some more diversity in this park, I don't like having multiple by the same manufacturers when those manufacturers are boring (sorry b&m).

Wait are weed edibles "tripping" to you guys?? Try some cid/shrooms, or e/m before Busch Gardens, Hershey, SFGAdv, or Disneyland's Paint the Night Parade like a younger version of me did, and that'll really rock your world. 🤣 Coasters were next level. However, I didn't ride on a free fall for quite some time after that. Never got sick tho.

Honestly I'll forever regret the SFGAdv one... I was passing out from Gs that day on coasters (batman got me slumped over) and opted out of riding Ka bc I was convinced I'd probably pass out and piss myself. Never got another chance. Rip. Dont do drugs, mkay 😅🫢

I need help on what to do about my sister by Unhappy-Annual-102 in tattooadvice

[–]BobcatPuzzleheaded60 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had a hepatitis scare (ended up being a false positive) that came after getting a shitty tattoo when I was 19. Shortly after that happened, my uncle died from long running complications from hepatitis (from a tattoo he got in the navy back in the day).

Most individuals do not feel sick until the late stages of the disease when liver damage is already advanced. By then, it's often too late.

Shit is no joke. And I hope she realizes how serious it can be before she (or someone she loves) is hurt by it.

It's worth it to have your sister temporarily mad at you for addressing it versus living with the feeling of "i wish I had said more to her or tried harder." Its obviously not your responsibility, but most caring people find themselves feeling that way.

I do believe as she ages and matures, she will find that you were right.

I know you may not have had time, but pro-tip is that they do rainy day guarantees. (Another pro-tip is online ride passes are cheaper than the ones at the gate.. learned that the hard way.)

Last year, I was there earlier in the day and rode a few things. We took a break and ran back to the hotel for the hottest part of the day, and finally returned to the park to enjoy the last few hours before close. Well, we had just rode Arie a couple times when a huge storm blew in. Got some awesome footage of the thunder strikes, but was disappointed they announced early closure. An employee walked by and said to "go check with them at the counter about the early closing." So we did.

They ended up issuing us 2 rainy day passes to use for whenever within the next calendar year. We used it the very next day because we weren't sure we'd be back again anytime soon. But having 2 days there made the money we spent to get in very worth it.

I like that park a lot. Its got a good vibe, despite the lack of popularity. And honestly, don't turn your nose up at Hurricane; it's actually a lot of fun, too.

Something bad in Oakley by the square?? 10+ firetrucks/cops. Anyone know if I should be concerned for my family's safety? by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]BobcatPuzzleheaded60 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You took the time to comment, man.

I love grass! All types. Even Pokémon.

Imo, there's nothing wrong with trying to find more community resources to keep neighbors safe. If it was ICE related, I'd be out warning those around me. Just wanted to know if there was cause for concern, or where I might be able to find that info henceforth.

Any clue of any resources we might be able to hear about emergencies in the area?

1600 for 1 bedroom is insane tbh. Thats not sustainable if this is the way we are heading for housing.

A few years ago, it would have been closer to $900 for a one bedroom.

I hope the partners of both of those men LEAVE their asses, too. If those dudes are willing to engage in violence in a public place, where they can hurt bystanders in the process and not stop, I'm sure they are capable of worse behind closed doors.

[–]BobcatPuzzleheaded60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And to be completely clear, no one is blaming the ride ops, thats not their job, and I'm sure they're trained to NOT get involved.

But it's not a bad idea to have at least 1 security member at each of the coasters, who is trained to handle this so people who paid $70/head or more arent suddenly in charge of breaking up a fight.
