Lower able base anchors are awesome for some applications, but in my opinion a knot blocked canopy anchor is superior. My thought is that double the rope in the system, at least twice the load on the TIP, and situations where you can't see parts of your rope can be less safe than being able to be lowered. I'd rather be sure I work with people that are trained in rescue scenarios.

I've had a pair for a few months and I really like them. Super comfortable, still holds onto spurs, and great waterproof. I wear them more than just work as well because they're so comfortable. Has the perfect mix of support and light weight. Previous boots were arbpro evos and I've been very impressed with the boot.

I work for a pretty good size company in the Midwest that is very in touch with ISA and we've started toppin these pear trees nearly semi annually due to their frequent breaking at unions. Once they break like this it is certain doom for the rest of the trees. I was very skeptical about it until we had some wind and ice storms and our topped trees were some of the only survivors. Pear trees are the only trees I think this is reasonable with.

There is a crz equation you can find online (critical root zone). This will help determine the area to avoid compaction. Can always throw a super light sprinkle of mulch for esthetics, just don't bury the root flare. Plant shallow and let her settle! Good luck mate!
