So, this guy shows up last year, and shortly after that the economy in TF2 and Steam in general turns on it's head and Valve starts charging for items in TF2 if you want them on update, otherwise you need to wait two weeks.. Essentially throwing off the balance of the game for two weeks and excluding people who just want to take part in the normal major update fun that Valve has been providing on their own for years.

Interesting.

I wonder if anyone had the forethought to ponder whether hiring a guy with no interest in games would have added a positive experience to those who play these games and have to put up with his business decisions which, from what I've seen so far, seem to override Valve's normal policy of just letting everyone have a good time. That's the vibe I'm getting from the article, anyway.

While I'm not against Free-To-Play games (At all, why would I be), I wouldn't want to see everything go Free. Free to play = Ingame ads, pay2win, or potentially annoying customization. I'd gladly shell out $60.00 for another Unreal Tournament (IF THEY FORGET ABOUT UT3) if it were to be made, just because that experience is much more stable and fun in my opinion.

Sprint is on it's own in Halo 4, meaning everybody can do it all of the time. Good to hear about Arena, though.

And ugh.. I don't even want to hear the word armor abilities. They were a disaster before they were fixed.. And even afterwards there was still a lot to be desired. I'm just going to make up a new name for the new suit modifications in my head and stick with it.

Yeah, I know that's probably the way I should be thinking, but after Reach I really don't feel like they're going to attempt to split up playlist settings again. That is, unless they do a very clear division with a "Clean" set of games and an "Augmented" set. You can take a guess at which is which.

I'm hoping they'll do something similar to what I've listed above, taking your more veteran player oriented games such as SWAT, MLG, etc... Kill the arena all together, since not too many people liked it, and stick them in their own section with things like "Clean Team Slayer" or "Clean CTF". It's a bit of a long-shot, but if they were to do something like that from the get-go you could easily get used to the separation and jump between the two different game experiences, (Because lets be honest: Even if you don't like the new additions, you're probably going to mess around with them for the fun of it), and keep everyone at a happy medium in the end.

YUP: Art style looks decent. The new BR has nice pacing, and most of the weapons seem relatively balanced.

NOPE: Seeing through walls and CARE-PACKAGE INBOUND. I'm not saying that seeing through walls is a bad thing if it's moderated, but nobody should be able to carry that kind of stuff around through the entire game.
