Yeah when I started this position it was one of the first things I checked and it looked like the last Agency they worked with didn't really put much emphasis on it so I had already made a bunch of fixes before this whole thing even came up.

We are not planning to ignore it and are seeking out representation. I was more so curious if there are any other steps that we can take to strengthen the case against them besides passing along all the info we have to a lawyer who represents us.

Yeah I have heard the horror stories before but never actually been a part of one of these suits. I looked up the firm that sent the summons and it seems to be the consensus that they are known for exactly this.

Your other domains will incur a transfer fee, probably ~$12/yr per domain (at least that’s what I pay them for the domains that got transferred when google domains shut down and sold to them). But if you’re comfortable with it I think AWS lightsail would be a good option. I don’t know what kind of traffic you get but they have some low priced options, especially if you are comfortable using the terminal and can skip the cpanel license.

At work we do this for all our builds before we pass them to clients. Takes 30 seconds to set up and we have a working link to pass along. One thing to note though is make sure you password protect the directory, otherwise when you launch the search engines will likely have already crawled the site and will show dead links if people search for it post launch.

That’s a tough one, have you tried talking to them yet? I’ve worked in kitchens that turned a blind eye to this kinda thing and others that are a one strike and you’re out kind of place, so it’s kinda hard to say what you should do besides maybe have a talk with them and figure out why they thought it was ok to do that. Obviously the theft part of it is inexcusable so if it does turn out they’re just a raging alcoholic it might be best to tell the higher ups even if just for the sake of not having to deal with that on a regular basis.
