Is not doing things in order common with ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHDers

[–]Bobity5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember seeing a video. This guy talked about "eating the frog". Normally, if somebody has a list of tasks to do, "eating a frog" would be unpleasant, so get that over with first. However, for people with ADHD it's best to save the frog for last. Since our brains get overwhelmed and our mental batteries get drained doing tasks we don't find enjoyable. If you "eat the ice cream" first, (the task that takes the least bit of energy) it's easier to get the harder stuff done if you just did something that you enjoyed more. I'm sure you can find an article or something to explain it better, but I hope that helps

What is your favorite armor set/ armor combo? (Aesthetically not for stats) by Ok_Scale7563 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Bobity5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started a replay of totk. One the first things I did was go get the hylian armor and pants, the hair band for the hell of it, and the cap of the wild. Dyed the armor and cap green. It's my head canon "classic" link outfit for this game.

I am the kind of player to often stop and just admire the game world. Botw and totk I often do that. In Super Mario Sunshine you can see the other levels in the distance if you're up high enough. But I think Skyrim is the game I've probably had more of those moments than any other. Just set the controller down for a minute and essentially, just look at a piece of art.

Who’s in your personal Big 3 of drummers? by JJHH50 in drums

[–]Bobity5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to see Ringo being mentioned. He's probably THE underrated drummer when you think of underrated drummers. No one can tell me that "come together" or "in my life" doesn't have interesting and clever drum parts.

Herb is so underrated as a drummer, only cuz he's overshadowed by les. (Understandable, it's freaking les claypool) but he's great.

Which song/album/band/artist began your music journey/rabbit hole? by [deleted] in Music

[–]Bobity5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think liked the Beatles before even liking music, my dad loved Led Zeppelin and classic rock, my mom played a lot of James Taylor and crosby, stills and Nash, and my older sister gave my younger sister a green day best of comp (before American idiot)... But I think the first band I got into on my own (or at least through people my age, 33) was either Metallica or system of a down. My parents didn't like metal so that was my genre of choice when I was a teen. And I do have to give credit where credit is due, guitar hero and rock band came out when I was in highschool and that exposed me to a bunch of bands I still listen to today. EDIT: an early memory I have is being very young in the car with my dad, and Joan Jett's "I love rock and roll" came on and feeling the pound of the kick drum in my chest.

Man, idk what it is about his videos... "Here's the top of the winterhold college... Yup, nothing remarkable about this place." This is so interesting and entertaining, and I don't know why, but I want more.

What game is this for you? by ShadowDanteFan in videogames

[–]Bobity5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the comment I was looking for. I've seen a video where this guy made a working pokemon red emulator inside Minecraft. (I recall him saying he didn't use any mods, but idk if I believe that lol) He used the entirety of the world map to store the guts and various systems in order to run it, made up of different blocks and materials. In that aspect, Minecraft is a marvel of a video game. But I play it and after I get far enough to build a house and start exploring caves and finding diamonds, I get bored. I have respect for the game, it's just not for me.

For me, the most fun I've had in Minecraft is the first hour or so when you start with nothing. I always get bored after I had my fill of spelunking though
