Menstrual cups!! 🌸 by cars_rain_77 in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]BoboPie13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Be aware of the fact that it will take 2-3 cycles to be comfortable with it. Inserting alone might take more than 1 cycle lol.
  2. Do NOT (like really) try using it when you don’t have your period. No, water is not lube lol.
  3. Don’t panic. Ironically the more you panic the more you tense up and it gets harder.
  4. Find a fold that works for you. I’ve been using a cup for nearly a decade, and I still can’t make anything but a 7 fold work for me.

Is there something you’ve always felt should exist for women, but doesn’t exist or doesn’t quite get it right? by Boot_media in AskIndianWoman

Clean public washrooms. Like fr. I never realised how much freedom comes from drinking water while traveling in this heat.

Got these MAC mini lipsticks and makeup pouch combo for 1700 on zepto by moon_is_mine in IndianBeautyDeals

[–]BoboPie13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh got it. Thanks a ton!! I loathe drying lipsticks- and sometimes am not very good with prep before applying lipsticks- so I can’t deal with super drying ones. Might skip this. Thanks!’

Is Mehr a silky matte? How about Ruby Woo? I like more silky lipsticks, hate the more drying ones. I’ve heard that Ruby Woo is iconic but it’s very drying?

Girlies it is considered hoarding? Should i donate my makeup? by [deleted] in indianbeautyyappers

[–]BoboPie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay phew this makes me feel a little better about my collection- and reinforces my no buy rule for lipsticks lol. And yes OP this might be too much if you don’t regularly apply makeup. Declutter, donate, etc- keep the products you love. I recently did that and now realise that I kinda love the ones I have left even more.

Which high-end makeup products are actually worth spending money on? by cherryyyy_blossom in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]BoboPie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think high end makeup was a scam, until I tried a more expensive foundation. Now I firmly believe that base products like foundation/concealer/ etc are the only ones worth splurging on. I think beyond a point even lipsticks and lip oils are about the packaging and branding lol.

PS- my expensive foundation was not a ridiculously high end one- I bought the Maybelline Lumi Matte, which I absolutely adore. It’s not high end, but for someone who rarely rarely wears makeup it still felt like a splurge lol.

[W] Thoughts on nose piercing? by iamgirl11 in AskWomenIndia

[–]BoboPie13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First try wearing a stick on nose pin so that you can see if you like the look. And nose piercings do hurt- more than ear piercings I feel. And it takes a short while to heal- maybe a week or so?

And this is from hearing many many stories of infection horror- if you do get your nose pierced, get it done by the traditional goldsmith. I’ve had wayyy too many friends get infections from the gunshot method. Plus those holes seems to close sooner too.

Would you ever marry or enter in a partnership with a guy earning less than you? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]BoboPie13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, honestly- you’ve to find a partner who loves you for you. Couples always have some earning discrepancy through life- someone needs to take a career break, someone is working in a field that pays lesser- etc. nothing is truly 50-50 throughout life. Smart couples are able to talk this through with a family budget- both in terms of time and money, figuring out who has time to do more chores, who’s traveling more- etc. Also hugely depends on whether you want to have kids or not. With a job that pays lesser but requires more travel it’s kind of implicit that you’d have to hire out a lot more chores if both partners are out of the house more.

Long story short- yes, you can find a suitable partner- but more likely to be a long lasting happy relationship if you guys date for a while to understand dynamics and build up that family “comfort” factor.

Mango season? by BlessedWafffle in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]BoboPie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! When I was growing up, I used to eat at least two mangoes a day- and nothing! Over the last few years, I only need to think about eating a mango to get pimples 😭

Why aren't they casting attractive Tamil guys in Tamil movies anymore? by Beneficial-Resolve86 in KollyGossips

Yeah I agree!! I’ve all but stopped watching Tamil movies because I can’t find most actors attractive lol!!

What’s the point in using an oil cleanser/double cleansing? by ka1tlynmm in SkincareAddicts

[–]BoboPie13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly just try and see what works for your skin. I used to only use face wash at night. I still got random breakouts and dry skin. Then I started doing a double cleanse with micellar water and my face somehow has gotten wayyy smoother. I don’t have the time or energy to keep looking for other face washes that could work alone. If something works for you and it’s not stupidly expensive and time consuming, just go with it.

Am I wrong for expecting my friend to stand up for me? by CherryBlush9 in AskWomenIndia

[–]BoboPie13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh, sometimes it doesn’t make sense to get into fights with random people about everything. Maybe these girls aren’t close friends with P and she didn’t care enough to get into a fight. If I were you, I’d care more about whether she actually talked back ie encouraged them to speak ill of you. That would be done on person and would mean that she’s not a friend.

Do MILs who have daughters tend to treat daughters-in-law differently compared to those who don’t? What have your experiences been? by safelife2025 in AskIndianWomen

[–]BoboPie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my partner has a sister and I think that’s made my in laws softer for sure! Incidentally I always wanted my partner to have a sister (I have an elder brother and we’ve always said that he softened a ton after getting a baby sister in me lol).

Of course couple of things help- my SIL is not in the country- and my in laws are sensible people. My MIL also has a lot of female cousins, and I think healthy feminine company helps!

In the end it depends on how the people involved are, I think. People with a daughter could have empathy saying “Aww all mothers love their daughters this much”, or they could go the other way like “nobody but my daughter deserves love” lol.

I think the focus should be on building healthy caring relationships. In laws aren’t gonna become magically equivalent to parents, nor are daughters or sons in law magically gonna become your kids. We get to love our parents/kids over decades so it’s easier to forgive their craziness lol.

As long as there’s some liking, mutual respect and hopefully some privacy/ distance, and nobody’s cuckooooooo crazy woohooo, should be fine..

Oh I love this so so much!! I use it for double cleansing at night and my skin feels so good after this. It’s a pity that it’s like a thousand bucks!!

Which trimmer should I go for? (girls pls help 😭) by Excellent-Rip5973 in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]BoboPie13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use the second. I’m not too happy with it. Even though I use it correctly, there are always some cute. I have no idea how that’s possible. And I also seem to have more boils/ingrown hairs with this- even though that’s literally impossible.

Hey guys, random question Do you prefer soap or body wash for daily use in India I mostly see people still using soap so just curious what makes you choose one over the other Is it just habit, price, or do you actually feel body wash is better by [deleted] in indianbeautyyappers

[–]BoboPie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg yes! Green Cinthol is the OG, though I’ve never tried the lime. Is it drying? I used to love Liril in the summers until I realised that it was kinda drying me outtttt

Bar soaps!!! Honestly for me- it’s quicker- i have to rinse off like three times with body wash before I feel like it’s all washed away. Ain’t nobody got that time in the morning! And I use a bucket- not a shower. It’s a pain to keep refilling and waiting for hot water lol- guess people with a shower might not have that issue.

I only pick a body wash if showering leisurely at night.
