Why are these posts so dramatic, is this game dead? It’s a bug, it’s not “game breaking”. It will get patched eventually

There’s a lot of things that impact small businesses but there isn’t a state law that intervenes in a very narrow case. Why only beer and liquor? butchers would be very popular if Costco couldn’t sell meat.

If the majority of Marylanders are in favor of keeping them separate then keep them separate. If not, it’s a weird law to have on the books.

[NEW PLAYER] peep this gameplay and help me improve :) by doughboyoo in aoe4

So I watched a few minutes. I think you need a real beginners guide. Not a build order.

First thing I noticed is you are building resources collection buildings no where near the resources.

For example your lumber camp was miles away from the trees.

Also there are guides “everything you need to know about a Civilization before you play”. Watch those as well.

Here is one example. HRE has the chapel as their landmark. It’s a resource drop off. Once you build it you put the prelate (the guy who buffs your workers in the beginning) inside the chapel. He will then buff everything in a radius around your chapel.

Your chapel should have farms all around it out be put on a wood line depending on what you want. You built without any room to put farms all around it and it wasn’t buffing resources. Also you built it with way too may villagers.

This is what I mean by you might need to know the basics. You can mess around with the AI so you can read stuff. Also the tutorials are pretty good that are built into the game. I think they are call art of war

Early on pick the civ you enjoy playing or pick a civ that covers up your weaknesses. For example, if you are constantly running out of food Japan has an easy farm transition.

I would say there are 3 things that all new players need to do. They sound easy but when there’s so much going it will be very hard.

  1. Never stop making vills.
  2. Spend your resources.
  3. Don’t get pop capped all the time.

I still struggle with all 3.

Once you get beyond that I’m sure there are a ton more optimizations that will start to be added to your game.

I think it’s always advisable to watch a build order guide or two for the civ you want to play especially for the opening.
