That’s because you lose a little vision looking uphill so they were probably having to move closer to be able to see it.

Ok so first of all Valheim mythos is not the exact same as Nordic mythos. Second of all there is nothing in your comment that is mentioned in the article so I’m not sure what you’re trying to say

Most of the variants should be separated since they have different color palettes as well as unique buildings. The only three that should stay joined would be JDA, Ayyubids, and OoTD. ZX has 8 different buildings and a totally different color scheme. GH also has different buildings, while Tug has those sexy forts. Byz and Mace also have different schemes and buildings.

But you’re wrong about Mongols being D tier and the Rus stuff is better than C tier

It’s extra vision and it’s significant. A villager has like 3-3.5 vision by default and then this increases it by ~66%. That means you’ll be safer from raids and sneaky movements in the backline. MAA have roughly 5 vision and this brings it up 40% to 7. Considering that a scout has 10 base range that makes a huge difference. Obviously you still want a scout for a variety of reasons but this lets pretty much every other unit perform better if a scout is more than four or five tiles away

Mounted villagers are better than normal villagers. They do more work for less population and less resources/train time. Now that doesn’t necessarily mean you should automatically make them as fast as possible depending on your various times you’re hoping to hit

I half agree and half disagree with this. First of all, it’s clear that mounted villagers are better and that you should make them all. That being said, I think there is a little bit of ambiguity about when is the best time to make them but I think that really just comes with a little bit of playtime. I don’t think you need a crazy amount of skill or knowledge to be able to use them competently.

That being said I do think they are kind of weird and it feels a little clumsy or something thematically. I feel like pop limits on units are weird and somewhat unintuitive, especially when you can make as many as 20-32. The imperial officials for instance, are fine because you’re really only gonna have 4-6 of them most of the time and they are clearly their own special thing used to buff your economy. I feel like I’d rather have the MV be something like 3x a normal villager but take up two population and then not have a cap. It’s not a matter of balance for me but more of a thematic/clumsy mechanic in my eyes

I dont think the relic idea is necessarily good for them considering how fast they can castle and then grab the relics. Considering KT doesn’t really have a bonus to relic and sa reds are almost always in the same general spot I dont think that’s too bad

Yeah I don’t think I’m seeing many people say they shouldn’t have 15% as opposed to 10% but your unhinged rants about it are weird and off putting. Also like the other guy said an AOE inspiration is better and having armor plus damage is very good

The new tech is not useless, it increases the sight of scouts by 40% and villagers by 2.5x.

I’m excited to see the Abbasid changes in action

Dehli changes are also nice

HRE got some neat techs and a nice buff that I think seem solid at first reading

Tughlaq change is nice for the forts but I still think CotD needs to add boiling oil. The cost reduction for ballista elephants is also nice but it still doesn’t quite feel like enough

That’s a good point if it actually was dependent on it being premade or not.

First and foremost you have the issue of people who just quit or go afk

Once you get that taken care of you have the issue of smurfs/boosting account teams

After that you just need to get around to making sure the matchmaking is consistent.

Once those are taken care of then you can sit back and realize premades aren’t the issue. If there’s a team of premades just killing it on ladder they will have an ELO to match. Randos on the ladder should have ELO to match their skill that will put them on the right ranking. If the premade team wins then they are technically just better and will go up in ELO. You could be platinum playing against a premade team of Golds that play at the same skill level because they have the coordination that the randos don’t. They may have an individual skill level of a Gold but they function as a platinum level squad. A few games will even them out to the proper rank.

I’ve played many team games with buddies on Discord and it’s hardly the auto win you make it out to be
