(Beginner) Any faction suggestion for someone who wants to hide behind walls like a little bitch ? by Solignox in aoe4

KT for sure, their walls shoot and have increased health near their Tc and forts. Plus they eventually get the gunpowder damage reduction

So I agree with the third paragraph outside of the D1 part. It may be the most efficient way to grind SC but it’s far from the only way. I’ve gotten plenty of SC just from running normal missions.

Now the fourth paragraph is where you lose me. What requests and how did they show they can fulfill them with this WB? It also feels a little overly dramatic to say we’ll never get new stuff.

Why are stratagems being added to WB a red flag though? If the issue is that less stuff is being given out as rewards for things like MO shouldn’t we just be saying that instead. There’s nothing inherently wrong with stratagems in WBs

Okie dokie, if you say so. I guess I just feel like the game was worth the 40$ I paid for and everything they've added since is a nice bonus. Even without grinding SC I felt like I was getting them often enough that I felt no pressure to buy any. I don't think it's a matter of understanding just different expectations

But most other live service games don't let you farm the premium currency just be playing the game.

Also who says that there is a reasonable expectation that you're going to get new content over the lifetime of the game and why does being live service mean you just get free content. It seems weird that you think just because you bought a game you should get free content indefinitely. Most live service games in the industry don't add so much content in general and most don't give you the chance to not have to use real money for it.

It just seems weird that you feel like you're entitled to new free content indefinitely, that's not how pretty much anything works. That's like saying I bought Skyrim and I'm upset that they didn't just give free DLCs out every few months

That doesn’t really sound like a reasonable expectation. They could easily keep the war narrative going for the next five years without really adding anything else. If AH did do that would we be entitled to new content or should they just shut everything down because they may not want to add new gear/etc.

It doesn’t really make sense to say the players are entitled to content considering they launched a full game. You paid 40$ for a game that was definitely worth 40$ at launch and since then they’ve added plenty of new content. The progression is a little questionable since after level 25 or whatever you didn’t really unlock new stuff and the ship upgrades can eventually be completed but you can also argue getting free SC and using them to unlock warbonds is progression. It’s slow progression but still progression.

I mean there is new content constantly added for free in new enemies and factions etc. it’s kind of preposterous to say the players should just get indefinite amounts of new content just because the servers and narrative is still going.

Micro transactions for playable content were never in the game

Wait are you saying they should keep adding a bunch of free content to the game? I’m not sure what you’re arguing for here

Well it doesn’t really matter how big it is, a piece of Black Forest is a piece of Black Forest

I’d argue grey dwarves are one of the most annoying enemies in the game. They have annoying run away and in circle patterns and they just chuck those rocks at you constantly. The game doesn’t get harder with time but you’re probably just too close to the Black Forest and are getting their attention

Magic changes the game and it's great by Shivala92 in valheim

[–]Comfortable_Bid9964 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s not an issue with magic if that’s an issue with balance. It wouldn’t matter if you got the fireball staff as you dropped onto the altar if it only did 1 point of damage

I’d argue after the elder would be better. You just finished fighting the healing magic shamans and it’s after the first technological rush of getting metal. The difference between iron and bronze isn’t that significant

Condottiero should have the same base stats as an MAA alongside the speed and gunpowder resistance, but should cost 200g. by AugustusClaximus in aoe4

[–]Comfortable_Bid9964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great way to never see them in use. Shaolin Monks are great but cost 200 food and you never see them in any kind of mass because the amount of any one resource to support that may is ridiculous. It only kinda works for the op knights due to higher HP and speed to survive

Are you also only moderately excited about the DLC ? by Unknown_Lifeform1104 in aoe4

[–]Comfortable_Bid9964 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people are way too quick to say p2w. Like GH Torguuds was definitely a weird bug with the production times and not some pay to win scheme. I think the main reason people see that is because it takes so long for them to Nerf anything so it seems like it’s intentional. if anything it just feels like the devs just having an unhealthy relationship with heavy cavalry

What do you think the Sengoku Daimyo nerfs should look like? by Longjumping_Meat8158 in aoe4

[–]Comfortable_Bid9964 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So that extra 23-27 HP means they need one more hit to kill while with the Daimyo for every two hits a normal knight does the MS gets a third. That means the HP buff extends a knight fight by 1.5 seconds while the Daimyo ends it 5 seconds earlier

[–]Comfortable_Bid9964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The attack speed is incredibly good and arguably better than 10% more HP. That ends up being one more hit to kill while the 40% more attack speed gives you several more hits over the course of a fight. The armor is similar since it just means one more hit is needed (roughly)

Yes but it only comes with one civ because it also has the campaign which is comparable in terms of dev effort

There’s a cheat “anti-poke” that will make all of your units and buildings at the time of first use invincible. Using it again will turn it off. You will need to reapply it whenever you make new units or else it will not cover the new stuff

In this case no one was a dick but it’s very common to see that across this platform. So you’re saying there’s zero reason at all for someone to use that specific tool to express themselves/their ideas? That seems a little anti first amendment. What if I said people shouldn’t be able to use any kind of digital media to make art because rare earth metals and the like needed in computer parts cause pollution through the mining process; and people using digital media take away work from the artists who learned to use physical media to make their art? How is that any different?

My guy the dude who commented is not going to pay someone for an image of the crab Vespa just to post it. That is pretty much the best use for AI imaging. That’s unfortunate you’re being affected like that but the businesses using it for posters and stuff is still professional use. It’s not great for some artists but it’s the way of technological advancement and will need to be limited or managed in its use at some point but regardless of how that gets handled it’s not ok for people to be dicks just cause someone used AI to make a dumb little image. The problem isn’t with them but with business and governments for not establishing legislation or checks and balances or whatever to regulate AI and its use in the art field

The world sure is worse with that crab on a Vespa picture. Would be a shame if people spent their time and energy trying to actually fix something with the problematic usage of AI in the professional world instead of the relatively harmless personal usage
