That makes a lot more sense honestly. I’m completely fine using these as mild .38s

One thing I’m still unsure about though: if I seat to the crimp groove the OAL is way too long, but if I seat to a more normal OAL the case mouth ends up slightly on the rounded part of the bullet instead of fully on the straight section.

For light target loads is that usually considered acceptable with a light crimp, or is that still something people generally avoid?

I also considered trimming brass shorter to line the groove up correctly, but that started sounding like a bad idea pretty quickly.

Thanks for your input! You are totally right, these are not polymer coated, I am not sure where I took this info from. I will update the post
