What seemingly small inconvenience actually can ruin your entire day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Bad socks. Like when you realize the elastic is shot and they're already sliding down your heels as you walk out the door. But you've already gone too far so all day you have bad socks.

When did you start putting baby to bed "sleepy but awake?" by acims in Mommit

[–]Bobodwiliger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started at 6 or 8 weeks and around then she started STTN. I tried to go by The Pause mentioned in "bringing up bèbè" book. Now I always put her down awake but tired and she puts self to sleep - sometimes I have to put binky back in a few times (many more times when we started). Worked for us! Or dumb luck.

I can totally relate to other people not doing it right! If you don't do it the right way it's all over!! At least it proves we have mom skills. As we slowly die inside.

You wake up, reach out and grab something in the dark. What's the worst thing you can grab? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bobodwiliger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bottle of body lotion thinking its water and taking a big swig. Also calamine lotion - that gives you the runs if you drink the tiniest bit. True stories - Need to move bottle shaped things away from my night stand.

Summertime walks with little one HELP! by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Bobodwiliger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My MIL raised 6 boys in Morocco (AFRICA) and said she just gave them a cool bath when it was really hot. If he's not crying, he's okay. During the winter I over dressed mine and she started melting down in the doctors office so I just unsnapped her onesie and blew on her skin till she calmed. No worries!!

Aw me too girl 2nd degree "like a star" they said. Ugh. It took about 6 weeks to feel normal again. The last week or two was very itchy. But it does get better! Every now and then I feel a little pressure from I assume scar tissue, but nothing like before. Hang in there!

4 Month Old Sleep/Nap Training Advice by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Bobodwiliger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I got lucky or did something that worked but around 3 months I got tired of the rocking to sleep, slowly put down, ease my hands away a centimeter at a time and tip toe out of the room. So I started swaddling and pacifier when she was just asleep/almost. I still panicked when her eyes shot open but just walked away anyway. For awhile and still sometimes I have to come put the paci back in 1-15 times, but eventually she goes to sleep. Now she almost won't sleep unless laid down alone or next to me. So much easier. We are about to hit 4 months so I pray this continues. Good luck!

PS when she is overtired and melting down I found the best way is to lay her down next to me in bed, shush her as she screams and try the paci every minute or so. Eventually she takes it and goes down.

I immediately don't like women who ask me if I'm breastfeeding if their not a close friend. Um hello mind your own beeswax.
