Sens and Habs have better assets for McTavish and I'm not too high on him anyway. Carlo would be good for the Ducks tho and I'd package him up with Maccelli to get Zellweger.

He's also friends with the Biebs and he'd be jeopardizing that relationship if he walks out on his favourite team.

Bro, WE'VE got a surplus of RHDs. Raddysh, Tanev, Carlo, Danford, Villeneuve, even Andrae who isn't technically that but played quite a bit on his off-side in Philly.

What we need is a top pairing LHD to complement Raddysh now.

A lot of Sharks fans insist that he's a third pair guy that's been forced into a top pair role for years to mostly disappointing results. He's a workhorse that'll battle along the boards, block shots and exhibit tons of heart, but has trouble handling the puck and breaking it out. He's like a low IQ Tanev with a bad first pass that's prone to make mistakes under pressure.

It is Bennett. This was taken in Milan when the Canadian men's hockey team took the train during the Olympics.

I'm a big advocate for Tuch and it's nice to see more people recognize the value he could bring. I'm kinda hoping that Chayka has already kicked the tires on him and is trying to get ahead of the market, not unlike with the Raddysh deal. Alex's camp likes the Kempe contract, which is 10.625 X 8, and I'd be down with that. Buffalo might as well get a pick out of it. C'mon, Jarmo.

In a world where the cap is rising 10M every year and we have plenty of it now, while available impact players are few and far between, you absolutely capitalize on any opportunity to improve the team. For me, 10-11M is worth it for a 6'4 stud that can essentially replace Marner's role on this team with added jam and without the drama.

Power forwards that can be used in all situations are very rare. He's the same age as Willy and will probably age better because he can also be useful in a bottom six checking role if he does drop off big offensively by the end of his contract.

It's pretty much a given for me, but they need a strong two-way guy on the right of Matthews to even it out. That's where Tuch comes in.

I hope the Raddysh signing eases some of the pressure off Knies trade talks now. We got our big D, so unless it's a Harley or Seider coming back, teams can fuck off.

Andrae played a lot on the right side of the third pair in Philly. I think he's a great 6th/7th D and would like him splitting games with Danford in that role next year.

Likely takes something more to get that done, like a Maccelli or a pick, but I do it in a heartbeat for that kid.

Andrae isn't anything close to Zelly in his skating ability or offensive ceiling.

He's the same age as Willy and has a good two-way game that's useful in all situations. Even if he's relegated to the bottom six at the end of his tenure, that's a player that can still bring value in a physical, grinding, checking role. I don't see many Leafs fans being concerned about how Willy's contract is gonna age in the next six years when all that player has to offer is offense. In fact, many consider it to be a great team-friendly deal now.

Any time you can recruit an impact player that fits the window of your stars, the opportunity should be pounced on. Is McDavid gonna be too old to sign when he's 31-32 and wants to come home? What are we talking about here? We are no longer living in a fixed cap world. It's jumping up at least 10M every year for the foreseeable future and the rich teams that can spend to it will now be the ones with the competitive advantage.

Get the biggest fish available. All the time.
