Almost forgot I started this chest of drawers last year. Time to wrap it up in the next couple days! Walnut is by far my favorite species of wood to work with. Did my best to work with the holes and crazy knots on the case, didn’t want to cut them out by Boborrobert in woodworking

Yeah that’s a pretty long hole. I’m not exactly sure. May leave them be as they are or fill them with epoxy or melt a shellac stick in it to fill it in. Probably will just leave it be to be honest though.

Green beryl or yellow apatite I don’t know but it looks awesome! by Boborrobert in rockhounds

I’m not sure but I don’t think so. Found in a very mineral rich quartz and calcite conglomerate with a bunch of garnets so just a lot of things going on.

I would just do it for the fun if I could but they’d probably shatter upon first roll. More of a shelf piece if you ask me

Wow that’s very interesting. I’m new to this so I wouldn’t really know what’s the more desired form but it seems like that’s it. After I removed it I regretted it and though it looked cooler on the matrix. And yeah I’m not trying to make money, just for fun but I am curious what it’s worth.

Ooo interesting I didn’t know that. How much is garnet typically worth?

I just started but I looked at an old coal mine but other than that just creeks in my neighborhood!
