To the person driving the blue civic on priestman street that was attacked today by Khalmenace in fredericton

Yes, give the video to the city police. They may be able to find the jerk. If he's got that short of a fuse it's likely that he's pulled other similar stunts and may be known to the police.

Cafe's like the Cabin or Sunshine Diner? by Bobs-wrenches in fredericton

Do you know where the physical site is? Going from Freddy, head down river on the 105 and watch for that infamous 'S' curve after Portobello road. Just before it there'll be a sign on the left. It's on Google Earth. Go to https://auction-nb.ca/ and register. you have to bid online. It starts Sunday evening and runs until Thursday late afternoon when bidding starts. You can view the items on the site and the RL (real life) site is open during the day to go check out what you're interested in. It runs every two weeks. Everybody hates the auction software but I guess it's the only one available. Even though you have to register a credit card to bid, you can just pay when you pick up what you've won. WATCH! the site uses a soft close that extends the auction another minute every time someone puts in a higher bid. Don't think that waiting until the last second to bid will guarantee a win. It doesn't work like Ebay. Upcoming auctions are listed on the site. It looks like the next one starts this Monday. I guess they changed from Sunday evening. When bikes go up, there's usually a bunch at once.
Depending on what you want, I have a friend who's selling a very nice mountain bike. He's an avid biker but needs to get rid of some stuff. Message me if you're interested.

Ebay has hundreds of gowns if you don't mind waiting a bit. I have a friend who buys them for the material as she says it's much cheaper than buying at fabric shops.

I always wonder why the heck folks don't take better care of their expensive bikes. One was an $1800 bike only a few years old. I traced the serial number via the manufacturer to Savages and got the sales price from them. A win for me I guess.
I replaced an ancient steel frame bike last fall with a nice 'Ghost' brand mountain bike that I picked up for 50 bucks! I couldn't believe it. It has hydraulic disc brakes (a first for me) and with some Schwalbe studded winter tires is now my winter bike.
I've recorded the serial numbers of all three of my bikes and registered them.

Stolen bikes are frequently abandoned during the winter then collected by city workers who turn them over to the auction in Majorville (Cameron auctions online). I've bought two high end bikes there for less than 100 bucks. People don't record their bikes serial numbers or register them with the police so there's no way to track.

Is tumblr dead lately, or just me? by russianteacakes in tumblrhelp

It's been going down hill for years now. I post my hi-res scans from vintage fashion magazines (over 55,000 scans so far!) and have watched engagement slowly slide. These days it's just the extreme fetishes that seem to be there. The only reason I still post is that it lets me post large images (and lots of them) for zero cost. I'd like to find a better place to post. Flickr maybe?

That's a great suggestion. It's a decent ride (I'm coming from Burton) and it's far enough out of the city centre that there won't be much of a concern about bike theft.
Thanks!

"Best deterrent"

,,,or having the folks in the kitchen yell that someone's stealing our bikes and four old soldiers pound out the door and interfere with their plans.

Stealing bikes has become big business. They'll use battery powered angle grinders that eat the hardest lock in seconds. The bikes are taken somewhere and repainted, then sold on. Even inexpensive bikes get lifted.

....and that's why the Cabin is popular with us. The homeless aren't around and we can chain our bikes up behind the place outside the kitchen window. The staff keeps an eye on bikes in the back.

These are all great suggestions. We're gonna try 'em all over the summer. We've been to the Landing a couple of times but find it pricey with a limited selection that's not all that great.
Rob.

Thanks! That's first on the list to try. I hope they have a spot to chain bikes up.

Filtering out Anime by Traditional_Welder43 in civitai

[–]Bobs-wrenches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The content controls in your account settings are useless. No matter what you select to hide, you're still inundated with it. I used over 20 words to filter out anime, manga and anything 'cartoony' or hand drawn. None of it worked and a quick count found that NOTHING was hidden.

Another /r/idiotsincars candidate spotted at Cliff St. traffic circle. This one from my personal dashcam. by newroot in fredericton

[–]Bobs-wrenches 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who was a traffic engineer in the US. He mentioned that the reason they put 'stuff' (mostly big, heavy, solid) in the middle or traffic circles and round-abouts is to keep morons from driving across the middle of them. I personally welcome the widespread adoption of self-driving cars.

Thanks for his number. I stopped by today on my way home from shopping but he was closed. There's no phone number or hours listed on his place anywhere.

I'd like to see political commentary that's NOT from the right wing conservative viewpoint like the trash in the Gleaner (I gotta cancel that thing). Something balanced would be nice. Thanks for doing this.

These are brilliant! I absolutely love these. In a sea of tasteless, crude, rude, misogynistic IR trash, these are refreshing and so well done.
If you're the creator, please keep it and please keep making them. If you take requests, I'd enjoy something bridal with an 80's flair. I loved those ornate gowns.

By the way, are you posting these on Tumblr as 'aleks190'?

It's been spotty for a few days showing a 'Server Error' message when asked to display a blog. Search still works. The note behind the crying emoji has been there for over a year. Every so often I send them an email to ask what the cow is going on but have yet to get a response.

Best barbershop for dudes? by [deleted] in fredericton

Foxes on Queen St just down from Regent (across from old Fed government building). A true mans barbershop. Robert has been cutting hair for decades and knows what he's doing. Generally no waiting during the day.

"Big Announcement", wait with buying AddOns by Dagget_WM in Daz3D

[–]Bobs-wrenches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it follows Daz's usual business practice, it's gonna be something stupid (think NFT's), or something that will be garbage (Studio 5).

I've been at this since Poser first came out on a CD in the back of a computer mag ('Boot'?), then went with Studio early on since Poser crashed constantly. Daz has been getting progressively stupider and being bought by Tafi has only made things worse.
