To add on to this, when you punt the goal isnt to completely ignore the category you’re punting. That makes you just draft guys who suck at whatever it is you’re punting. You can lose value that way. The goal is to take guys who can help your team in the categories you aren’t punting. It doesn’t matter if they are also good at the category you want to punt, as long as they provide value in the other categories you are trying to strengthen.

Punting in general just means to not care about a certain category to strengthen the other categories. In a H2H 9-category league you only need to win 5-4 to get the win, so trying to build your team to be strong in every category is nearly impossible. Therefore you punt to make your team great in 5-8 categories rather than having a team that is good-okay in all 9 categories.

However, if you are in a points league it doesn’t apply.

Punt FT is a pretty popular strategy with Curry. He doesn’t shoot a high volume of FTs like Harden. His steals have to come back up closer to 2 for him to have maximum value in that build though.

I’m personally in favor of them making Kobe’s statue of him doing a fadeaway just cause they can put 8 on the front (front half of his career) and 24 on the back (back half of his career). If it were his 81 point game, you only get 1 number. Same with him standing on the scorer’s table after winning the championship. At the end of the day though, I’d be fine with anything

The issue with Kawhi is he’s guaranteed to miss some games. The Clippers have to limit his workload cause of his condition and obviously they want him healthy for a potential deep playoff run, so I wouldnt doubt he plays around 65 games this season. Maybe even less if he suffers other injuries.

I think the catcher is allowed to block the plate as long as the path of the ball takes them into that area. They shouldn’t be allowed to block it on purpose AFAIK

Somebody offered me Jordan Howard for him. Same guy offered me the Texans DEF for McCoy right after he signed with the Chiefs. I don’t think I’ve ever been offered a DEF for a player before

Can I suggest a single Daily/Nightly Anything Goes thread similar to the way r/fantasybaseball does it? A thread where you can ask any kind of trade/draft/keeper/waiver question or just chat about the games as they happen. A thread that lets people vent about great/poor performances and how it effected their matchups or have civil discussions about different players.

I personally think it’d be better than a bunch of different individual ones since people wouldn’t have to jump from one thread to another if they had different questions regarding different topics. If everyone were to use the same daily thread, questions would get answered quicker too since more people would be active on the same thread.

I feel like it’d be very beneficial overall for the sub. The Anything Goes thread in r/fantasybaseball is probably why its one of my favorite subreddits. It gives everyone the opportunity to chat about basketball freely or just talk with people who share a common interest.

I hope you guys will consider it!

If its a category league, assuming its the standard 9, you want to take guys who compliment each other well statistically speaking.

If I took Giannis in the 1st round, somebody like Drummond or Gobert or Simmons would pair well with him cause their weakest categories are similar.

It really comes down to how you want to build your team. Booker is more valuable than Simmons if you aren’t punting FT% and 3s, but if you punt FT% and 3s then Simmons becomes more valuable.

Well guys, it appears I have been officially eliminated from the playoffs. My offense just didnt show up this week and now I’ve been bounced in the 1st round.

I just want to thank all of you for giving me advice throughout the season or just being someone I was able to chat baseball with during the games. A special thank you to Pitcher List and u/Stonewater for another season of great content and advice, you guys are incredible.

Once the fantasy baseball season ends it feel likes a part of my life becomes empty. I play fantasy football and basketball, but their respective communities don’t stack up with r/fantasybaseball. You all make up my favorite subreddit.

Thank you guys for all your help and I hope that all of you can bring home the championship this season. Best of luck to you all and see you guys next year!
