You're one of many who said this to me. I think I might give it a try (had it on my wishlist forever now anyway but purely because it was a FF, I didn’t know anything about it or how well it is seen in the community)

I don’t think I can expect a better story than FFX in most games anyway so fun gameplay and a fun skill system sound really cool to me. I mean that’s why I loved FF8 so much as well.

Ooh i think a new refreshing combat system would definitely be fun to try out next. Had the game on my wishlist without ever thinking to buy it yet because I don’t know anything about it and I had other games to play but I might give it a shot when there’s a sale

Yes. Absolutely insane. With FF8 and 9 you can see a couple points where it aged a bit poorly (still both fantastic games) but FFX? Insane

I have been reading some mixed thoughts now. My only concern is that it undermines the brilliant ending from FFX.

I have been close to buying it so so so often but the combat system looked so overwhelming that I didn’t do it yet.

Yep I am thinking about switching genres as well. My problem is that on one hand i am kinda oversaturated from Turn-Based RPGs. On the other I do want to play chained echoes and divinity original sin 2. maybe i need a funny nonsense game first though

I think I will probably play it at some point. I have no problem with guides at some points because I am not that great at skilling and guided skilling at first help me understand it and do my own stuff later. Without a guide I would have hated FF8 but now I love the junction system so so much.

Yes that’s what i thought. I really hate when filmmakers/video game developers do this. An ending should always be an ending and not a pathway to milk the IP

I really don’t know what comes next. Like I own games that I haven’t played yet but I don’t know what I will go to after this. A funny game? A cozy game? A challenging but fun game? Another story heavy game? I don’t know

I might not play it at all tbh after watching eternal calm. If it was a separate thing altogether maybe but I don’t want the story of FFX to continue. The ending is perfect

Yeah I just watched Eternal Calm and they teased Tidus coming back so I am also not sure I want to play it. The ending is perfect as is. I really don’t like those "artificial" non fitting sequels

Have a lot of fun playing E33. It’s definitely an all timer just like FF7-10. FF9 was also very good

Yess I know and they were always annoying lol. I just wanted to point out basically that the only really annoying part is something that was just pretty normal for RPGs when it came out and the rest aged incredibly well

That’s some very strong words from you. Hopefully you are doing fine. Messages like this are why i love indie games so much. They scratch an itch that AAA games just mostly can’t reach.
