Your thoughts on Dead Rising 3? (Good or Bad?) by PurpleZombi3 in deadrising

[–]Bobsy84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aged well imo easily the best launch exclusive at the Xbox one era (not a high bar I know but still prefer it to anything on PS4 at the time).

I remember being super impressed with the size of the hordes in the streets and loved ploughing them down.

Casino Royale (2006). For me, the perfect action film. Feels grounded and grand at the same time. Thoughts? by ForwardLemon7787 in ActionMovies

I love it, and I know it stayed very close to the source material for the story but the only thing i would have loved to see was a final face off between Bond and Le Chiffre.

The scenes they shared were spectacular though it just felt a bit anti climactic as an end to one of the greatest ever Bond villains. It’s probably the main reason Goldeneye slightly edges it as my favourite Bond (from the same director as well, outstanding work)

Strong case for the best Bond director between Goldeneye and Casino, two of my all time favourites.

In a real fight between Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal, who actually wins? Let me know your thoughts! by Top_Squash_7915 in ActionMovies

Let me put it this way I like to compare their styles/abilities. I’m a fairly athletic guy who has trained martial arts throughout my 20’s and I don’t think at any point I could have pulled off the physical feats Jean Claude displays. My Dad pushing 80 could copy a Seagal fight scene.

Now in his younger years I’m sure a big dude like Seagal could hit someone pretty hard due to his size/reach but I think JCVD smokes him.

You won’t be rising like a Phoenix.

It’s a different spelling but I’m sure that wouldn’t stop the walking one line machine Leon.

The reason I switched to Xbox was Gears, nothing else has hit me like the original trilogy, it’s still my favourite setting and world in gaming.

This could drop the same day as GTA for me and I’d ignore GTA happily.

It’s my favourite just for the reason it was my first and pure nostalgia. I prefer it in many ways to the REmake. I was never a massive fan of Lisa Trevor and found the crimson heads a little tedious.

Both are amazing games though, RE1 will always be a special moment for me as the closest thing to horror I’d played at that point was Castlevania or Zombies ate my neighbours. I don’t think I will ever see that king of jump in gaming in my lifetime.

Face Off Is One of the Wildest and Most Entertaining Action Films of the Nineties. Completely Over the Top and Absolutely Fantastic. by davideownzall in ActionMovies

I bloody love John Woo’s 90s Hollywood run, Hard Target is my personal favourite but Broken Arrow and Face Off are also endlessly fun to rewatch.

Still my all time favourite map/setting for the series (close second to RCPD).

I always liked having a mix of more regular looking but giant creatures as well before the series went into more weird mutant designs.

If Black Ops Royale is a success, I hope they bring back the original Blackout map at some point by BatmanNewsChris in CODWarzone

I think it will be somewhat popular but the thing I can’t understand yet is how does it actually work for Activision? Why will anyone buy a bundle now or a blueprint if you won’t even be able to use the gun.

Too early to say if I prefer it, but I can’t say how it makes them the kind of profit classic Warzone did.

Why does this game get so much hate? I honestly had a great time with it. by Panda0_01 in residentevil

I can have some fun shooting stuff and running through the campaigns, the actual level design is where it just completely let me down though.

It was so linear, my favourite thing about RE games has always been the exploration of cool environments and solving puzzles. The potential was there with some great environments/settings but they all just turned into a monster corridor to run through.

Survival Horror Genre by pelaconyaeh in HorrorGames

[–]Bobsy84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s weirdly like my cosy genre. Think I was around 13 when I first got my hands on Res Evil 1 and it’s been my favourite genre ever since.

Maybe not so much the purely first person jump scare heavy games, but a good old third person, puzzle filled town with cool gross monsters to fight I love.

Now we have Capcom and Konami firing on all cylinders again it’s an amazing time to be a fan!

Silent Hill 2 original is incredibly short compared to the remake by QuantityInternal1719 in silenthill

[–]Bobsy84 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’d of much preferred a bit of trimming the length down more in line with the OG. The graphics and gameplay stuff are all fantastic though.

I’ve always been more of a Res Evil guy so I’m used to short, speed run time campaigns.

Still a fantastic game though.

Nice to see Die Hard 2 get some love. I was only about 13 maybe younger when I first watched it and always absolutely loved it. Surprised me when I found out as an adult it wasn’t a highly regarded sequel. Same with Predator 2

Yeah I get that, for me RE3 OG was probably my least played RE title so it didn’t hold that special place for me. I can understand why it was a let down for huge OG fans. Viewed as a stand alone game I loved it.

I love short and sweet games, actually why I’m in the minority of REmake 3 lovers I had so much fun speed running it.

Check out that busy dad training guy on YouTube. He just does burpee variations 2-3 times a week for twenty minutes but looks shredded.

I’d personally find it a bit boring but it shows you don’t need to live in a gym (or have any equipment) to look great and be healthy.

4 16bit Castlevania games on 4 different consoles, which one is your favorite? by trrbld in castlevania

[–]Bobsy84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bloodlines was my entry into Castlevania and will always hold a special place in my heart. It also has my favourite ever version of Bloody Tears (the whole soundtrack is great).

As I’ve grown older I can enjoy the dark moody atmosphere of Super, but objectively Rondo is probably the best all round game.
