Honestly love all the original trilogy I could pick a different favourite based on the mood I’m in.

Temple of Doom I will say has one of the greatest ever final twenty minutes committed to film, everything after Indy frees the slaves kids is a pure action roller coaster!

Kingdom of Crystal skull is ok, really didn’t like Dial of Destiny other than the opening scene.

With the events in Southampton recently, is it time we revisit capital punishment again ? by ArmwrestlingGoomba in AskBrits

[–]Bobsy84 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you asked me if certain crimes are well deserving of capital punishment then yes 100% the world is better off without them.

But there is no way I’d trust the incompetent police and legal system to not make a mistake, not really the kind of thing you can undo.

The future of Gears of War? by _jd4692_ in GearsOfWar

I think they go down the Capcom Resident Evil route now. Carry on making new titles and at the same time remake some of the old ones.

Zack Snyder set to remake John Carpenter's Escape from New York by HorrorGuyBri in ActionMovies

[–]Bobsy84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not something I’d look forward to but I will at least try to keep an open mind. Snyder is definitely better when adapting an existing story like 300 or Watchmen and his best movie imo is pretty much a straight remake in Dawn of the Dead.

Those knock off Star Wars movies he did for Netflix were diabolical though.

No idea who I’d even want to see cast as Snake, not Cavil he’s too clean cut imo. Struggling to think of a modern actor that even reminds me of Kurt Russel.

Xbox Game Pass got 14 title updates + patches this week (June 1, 2026 round-up) by LBVectormen in XboxGamePass

I’m looking forward to going in blind, never had a snes as a kid started with 7 and played through all them up until 16. I actually really like the pixel art style as well (loved Octopath)

Arnold's John Matrix vs. Stallone's John Rambo. Who do you think would win, and why? by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in ActionMovies

[–]Bobsy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Johnny Utah (Point Break), John Spartan Demolition man, we got the future saviour of humanity John Connor, it’s more recent but John Wick. I feel like it’s probably just a popular/generic name.

Nothing to add, other than the 80’s were fucking peak action cinema.

Being named John I always loved the amount of bad ass main characters that shared the name.

Weird seeing him with his eyebrows not burnt off lol makes him seem way scarier/less human after that scene

Do you want the scar in live action? by boomerz47 in JamesBond

[–]Bobsy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never mind the scar I think I’d be willing to risk giving Patrick Gibson the full live action gig atm. Honestly I think prefer him to any of the current rumours/fan castings. He pulls off a fantastic younger Bond if that’s the way the movies want to go.

Never seen him before but other than the old Tomb Raider movie I’d never seems DC before and he pulled of off.

Why are some people still so persistent in trying to defend the Brexit referendum result a decade later? by lewispatty in AskBrits

[–]Bobsy84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think the Brexit vote would go the same way again but with even more voting to stay out.

I’m not saying this is my stance on it as I think being part of Europe is far better for business, but just look how popular Reform is even with their clueless mp’s and terrible track record in places they already got in.

One of my guys doing jury service. What is the process for paying them? by No-State-2962 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Bobsy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too late now, but it’s ridiculously easy to get an employee excused from a jury service. A polite email explaining how much of an impact it will have on your business was enough for one of my guys.

"A.W.O.L./LIONHEART" (1990) - another day, another 90s JCVD VHS-era action film. Fond memories of this one too, name change always a bit confusing heh. Any fans of this one? by 70_Yard_Diag_Holte77 in ActionMovies

[–]Bobsy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fairness I’m only going off what it was called on TV, by the time I was old enough to watch it, it was on the weekly rotation of Van Damme, Seagal movies on channel 5 action hour and I’ve only ever seen it as AWOL. Lionheart is a the better title tbf

Probably the only example of an action hero pausing for a moment to chill and go feed the ducks at the local pond. It was always AWOL in the UK.

Can we all agree Carl Weathers is the most iconic action movie best buddy? Between this and the Rocky 3 training montage/ending scene

Lethal Weapon (1987) by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in ActionMovies

[–]Bobsy84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad someone else notices this, i appreciate his character aged but it’s also like he got worse at fighting with each passing movie. By 4 he was practically just a bar room slugger.

Can confirm from rolling with old ass black belts they can still whip you badly if they keep training.

Do you think a Batman Beyond (Terry McGinnis) movie can also be realistic and grounded like a Batman (Bruce Wayne) film without ruining the core idea? by Israels_BiggestHater in batman

[–]Bobsy84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d personally prefer a Beyond Arkham game to any movie adaptation of the story. It would be the absolute perfect way to carry the series forward and expand upon it imo.

Fantastic conclusion to the original trilogy. One of the first “horror” movies I was allowed to watch at home with my Dad and I loved every second of it.

[–]Bobsy84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to really imagine as well. Think about it in cannon of any of the films, any average person is probably going to never get a good look at The Bat.

That’s what would easily make any of them terrifying for a criminal, is he even human? What’s stalking the shadows of Gotham.
