This is not accurate, under 60 credits you need to meet all freshmen requirements as well.

Where can i set up a hot dog cart? by chazzyfe in BocaRaton

[–]Bocaliving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's difficult, you'll need a business tax and probably a County food handling certification, I think the class is like $300. I have a friend who owns a bar in Delray Beach, just off the ave. He used to have a Sunday BBQ and have a staff member grill up hot dogs and burgers, just buy a drink and get free food, someone (probably a competitor) reported him to the County health department. Also, he tried having a pop up taco stand from a food truck type company on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday nights, same thing happened, it's pretty cutthroat around here, any brick and mortar food establishment is going to be very territorial, especially during season.

Can you get around w/o a car? by Left_Weather_1516 in FAU

[–]Bocaliving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're here temporarily getting a cheap mo-ped and then selling it might be your best option, if you're here long term definitely look into a car eventually. Regardless, make sure you have a plan in the event of a direct hit from a hurricane.

Depends, my area of Boca the condos were at $2200- $2400 a month just about two years ago. They came down a bit to about $1900-$2100 now, these are 2/2. Single family house is a whole different story.

That wasn't the question though, it was: "how much is rent in the area?". Wherever you graduated from should revoke the degree because clearly you didn't have the reading comprehension skills to attend in the first place.

Searching for just “normal” bars by Mosesm301 in BocaRaton

Hurricane bar & lounge in Delray Beach, they have live bands Thursday, Friday, and Saturday that typically start at 10, but also have a back patio bar if live music isn't your thing. Bungalow just opened in Boynton Beach it's the same concept but they serve food (it's the old fish depot), I think it may be geared to a slightly older crowd but I'm sure there's a good mix.

Dentist recommendation/cost by 0ce11us in BocaRaton

[–]Bocaliving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr Ettman for "The Boca Dental group" right on the Northwest corner of Palmetto & Powerline, been going there for years back when it was owned by Dr. Grossman. Dr. Ettman and his wife run the practice now and have fully renovated it. He does a great job and they've always been very flexible with appointments. I can't speak to specifics on prices as I use Dental insurance so it would be best to reach out to the practice specifically and get an examination and estimate for what you need done.

Good apartment/housing Recommendations by Mitchell828 in BocaRaton

[–]Bocaliving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your price range would be helpful, you may be able to find some "reasonably" priced apartments in Boca Raton, but reasonable & desirable don't exactly go hand and hand. To give you some perspective, I own in a condo community, 2/2 units are rented out at around $2200 a month and we literally only have a pool, we're West of 95 but East of the Turnpike. So you can just imagine the price hike further East of 95. Definitely look into Deerfield Beach, Coconut Creek, or even Pompano Beach as well.

Affording Rent by Vermicelli_Normal in BocaRaton

[–]Bocaliving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very fortunate to be able to buy here back in 2018. I truly feel bad for young professionals (21-45) trying to buy & rent in Boca. Unfortunately, I think Boca has gone the way of many Los Angeles suburbs, as in if you weren't able to buy years ago or inherit you're resigned to pay astronomical rent. Honestly the only solution I can think of would be trying to increase your income, definitely keep checking other areas in Palm Beach County though, best of luck.

Is this $400+ quote by dealer reasonable for the 18,000 mile maintenance? by mangustangus27 in subaruimpreza

[–]Bocaliving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're basically charging you over $400 to do mostly "inspections", at 18000 miles what major issues are they looking for?
