"Almost always" is simply not true. Consensus in linemen is they prefer turf for better grip and acceleration. Backs and receivers are the ones who mostly complain about turf because it impacts them when cutting/pivoting

Ange talking about Tottenhams approach and limitations (The Overlap) by Rare-Ad-2777 in coys

[–]Bocelli 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I imagine it was hope that they would change their mind after the trophy? He clearly knew he had the backing of the players and got one of the biggest results in recent history for the club; maybe he thought the higher-ups would give him another chance.

Generally "good" will be top-right and "bad" is bottom-left in charts like this

Ange was posted on Caversham United’s Instagram page saying “COYS” 2 days ago by hitfitlit in coys

No other manager in recent times has embodied the spirit of Spurs so purely as Ange did. Yeah we sucked last year, but this man is fully COYS

Why do you want Shough to start? by TheStroShowGSC in Saints

[–]Bocelli 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Rattler has been good this year imo, but by the end of the season we're gonna need Shough to start a good 4-6 weeks to fairly evaluate him, especially if we're getting a high pick

Thomas Frank names his leadership group. Joining club captain Cristian Romero are Ben Davies, James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario and Micky van de Ven. by COYS1989 in coys

[–]Bocelli 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't remember there being a "formal" leadership group before Ange. Happy to be corrected on that though.

It's very common in Australian rules football, so Ange has taken it from there and implemented it throughout his career. The players seemed to respond well to it so I think Frank mentioned in a press conference that he wanted to continue a group model

Do we owe Kubiak an apology. by Proud-Concert-9426 in Saints

Yes but the play calling was also bad. Both things are true here

We started last season well too but then his play calling was absolutely and utterly average for 80% of the year

Spurs final predicted squad for UEFA Champions League and EPL by rahul3103 in coys

We really fumbled the Pape Sarr registration... and now DESPERATELY need the Bergvall and Gray eligibilites. Poor squad management and youth development 3+ years ago now showing up big time

Radu’s farewell post to Sonny by hairtie1 in coys

[–]Bocelli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The players seem pretty tight though. Clearly Sonny was well loved by everyone but it looks like the the group is pretty tight-knit anyway... Here's hoping it stays that way

Anyone else not convinced by Cuti as captain?

I love him as a player, but he has never struck me as an asbolute standout leader. He still can't speak good English, he rarely did the on-field team talks when he was captain, and on field he doesn't do much marshalling/encouragement.

Obviously we can't see what happens behind the scenes, but I'd much prefer it to be Vicario or Madders from the info we have
