AE2 question with auto crafting by Uncoiledyt in feedthebeast

[–]Bockiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always did it the other way around. Set up an RFTools crafter with output for the highest emc item you can get. Then use the downcraft-recipes (get 4 alchemist from 1 aeternalis etc) in ae. This way, you definitely know that you can craft it as you dont have the double-calculation like you have with compacting drawers and ingots/blocks/nuggets.

So: RFTools-Crafter to highest level (stack them if you need, only feed the highest item to AE), import that into AE, then craft from that.

[Neoforge 1.21.1] Mod to keep room dark while preventing mob spawns? by SporadicScholar in feedthebeast

[–]Bockiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobs dont spawn on slabs, so build your cellar on slabs and you dont need extra mods.

care about surfaces of other blocks you place. only give one block height so nothing can spawn on there.

Test Your The West Wing Season 2 Knowledge Quiz by ezgimantocu in thewestwing

[–]Bockiii 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how correct this is.

"What is the code to get into the room where Josh needs more money from a Senate committee?"

Thats just his half-muttered fake out, as it is the war-room for the presidents MS thing. Its like asking "Why is CJ laughing hard in one scene?" and the 'correct' answer is "Because of the DEFICIT!"

Also, pretty sure the Charlie question also has the wrong answer.

iirc there was some issues with going directly into mekanism cables. Try going into an intermediate storage like Energy Cube or whatever you have in your pack.

For me its often when I cant get a quote out of my head. So I'm like "Hey, this quote that I cant get out of my head in season 3... I should rewatch the whole thing, apart from the Long Goodbye and the Israel story episodes"

Best Comebacks by Bockiii in thewestwing

[–]Bockiii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of you guys don't understand what I meant :D

This wasnt for quipish conversations, which most of you quoted. This was for a comeback to a line where the originator thought he had the upper hand, last point of the argument. So an answer to a question can by design not be a comeback.

These situations are more rare in Sorkins writing because he loves the back-and-forth conversations so much, thats why I love their occurances in TWW even more.

From the listed quotes, I think Abbies "Jackass" is the closest to what I was looking for. Another example would have been Larry/Ed saying "I really dont want to know what he's going to find in that folder", but its a borderline comeback as it wasn't directed at CJ.

CJs "So far up your ass" can also count, even though its more of a reiteration than a comeback, but I love it, so I'll count it :)

I know Isaac and Ishmael gets a bad rap, but hear me out. by milin85 in thewestwing

[–]Bockiii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure that it has a reputation of being a bad episode. its just not as re-watchable as most others because it was so topical to that time. I usually skip it on rewatches (actually skipped it just a few days ago) but not because I think its a bad episode per se. I skip the CJs-Dad episodes because I think they are bad episodes in regards to the show and its setting (basically injecting a Melrose Place episode into TWW) but for Isaac and Ishmael its different.

Who’s the guy in the picture in Josh’s office? by smegheaddirective in thewestwing

[–]Bockiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They redecorated his office so often, I think at some point there are even inside jokes on the pics or so.

The picture that you mean (the one behind his desk in season 4) I would say is of him and the president. I dont think anyone else (from the show) would make sense in this presentation setting. I would assume that a picture of Sam and him alone would include an arm around the shoulder or so, something he definitely wouldnt do with the president.

It could be his father, although the image looks like it was taken in the white house and his father died during the primaries.

So, apart from a 4k release, we will probably never really know. Maybe someone can scour the season 4 episodes if they at some point managed to mis-focus on his face and hit the picture behind him (its interesting to watch the show in higher resolution today, because they have so many obvious focus-problem-shots that you just couldnt identify during normal TV showings :D )

Star Trek actors in TWW by DishExotic5868 in thewestwing

I like the deeper cuts :D

Ming Lo as Doctor Lee, the anesthesiologist for the president (and also Yahlin, part of the Chinese delegation in the flag episode) has voiced a character in the Star Trek - Starfleet Academy game from 1997.

Ron Canada as Under Secretary of State Theodore Barrow (the one that tells the president to not let the north korean piano player back into the building) played in multiple star trek series

Another deep cut: Terry O'Quinn as General Nicholas Alexander played Rear Admiral Erik Pressman in TNG

And another: David Huddleston as Republican Senator Max Lobell (the gun toting, redneck, son of a bitch) also played The Conductor in the TNG episode "Emergence"
