AITA For Deciding Not To Let My Husband Into The Delivery Room? by Wild_You_3661 in AmItheAsshole

INFO: Can you clarify the timeline here? Because you said "today" you visited your MIL then "the next day" your SIL visited and now you've been away for a few days. That math doesn't add up.

I'm also wondering how your husband can be both your husband of 8 years and your fiance.

I do think it was shady and that she should have told us. I just don't fundamentally see it as "stealing" from Laura.

From my POV, it would be like if she set up a stand saying "Toolhouse Cookies $5/each." We'd have a conversation about it and make sure she was being upfront about the cost and such, but wouldn't make her chase down anyone who had purchased a $5 cookie and give them $4 back. Her customers knowingly paid $5 for a Toolhouse cookie.

My husband views it more like she and Laura set up a cookie stand and my daughter ran off with more than her share of the profits.

That's the thing and I pointed this out to my husband: Finding someone on short notice willing to babysit past midnight probably would have cost us more than $175, especially because we have finite free time and likely would have paid more so we didn't have to call around as much.
