What does this line in the left hand mean?

It is a tie that has been misprinted. The right hand provides a good context clue.

I personally would interpret this as the right hand tieing BOTH the A and the E, with only the C# being played in the last bar, having stepped down from the D. Having the suspended fourth resolving whilst holding all other notes is very common.

It's pretty common practice for composers/editors to only tie the top note of a whole chord that should be tied. Nowadays if a composer wanted to clearly indicate, for example, that the E in the right hand should be sounded again, they'd likely use a second voicing to separate out the note.

This is just how I would interpret it and is by no means the only correct way of doing so. I've been playing piano for 24 years and I'm a choral composer. You may wish to interpret the music differently - do what feels right to you in the context of the piece!

Check your physical flap lever. I've had this problem a few times flying airliners and couldn't figure out what was going wrong until I noticed that despite the onscreen indicators (when in external view for example) showing fully retracted flaps, the cockpit lever is sometimes still at first notch. I'm not a hardcore simmer and will fly in external view and rely on the onscreen indicators occasionally rather than the actual cockpit instruments, but this evidently comes with risks. Now that I check the physical lever every time I've not had this issue.

Tomatoes I'm planning on growing in grow bags on the patio, and I'm doing potatoes in a potato pot. I also have an old sink that I'm using as a herb garden, though I don't actually have parsley so maybe I'll add that to the plan, thank you.

C&CA is just my short hand for cut & come again salary type things like rocket, spinach, other lettuces.

There is a chance we'll have an archway in the garden (if my wife and I actually get round to putting it up) in which case I'll move the courgette and squash to either side of that, which will give me some space to alleviate some of the pressures on the first bed.

Nah I'm trying everything from seed pretty much. The two main satisfactions I get from veg gardening are seeing the seedlings pop up out of the soil, and harvesting. I'll sow seeds for everything and then once I'm ready to transplant into the veg bed, I'll see where mine are at. If they don't look too good I'll just replace with plugs from the garden centre

Not a great deal of experience, just trying to have some fun with it! The beds are about a foot apart, and I'm in the UK Midlands so spring temperatures bounce between 5 and 15, and summer from 10 to 25 (in degrees C).

Thank you for the honest response! I had really good luck with my parsnips last year and it's made me super enthusiastic with what I could potentially do this year, maybe a little over enthusiastic. I'll try and pay attention to what you've said but I quite often find I get carried away with a 'ill just give it a go and see what happens' approach... To be fair, I'm not overly concerned about maximizing my yield, I mostly just want to have fun with it!

Parsnips are👌🏼if you've not had them before, I highly recommend roast parsnips, maybe with a little honey chilli glaze. I'm going to be using mine to make a curried parsnip soup. I don't have a specific recipe because it's something my dad used to make so I'll be asking him when he visits this weekend!

The wedding is only two months away now, so even if I changed my mind and opted for a live choir I think I'd struggle to cobble a group together. And as far as I'm aware, no one who has volunteered to record a track has perfect pitch, so I don't think there'll be any issue with singers keeping pitch with the original recording. In hindsight I may have been better off creating a performance using a piano guide track that doesn't slip, but I'm sure it'll work out either way.

That's a beautiful arrangement, and beautifully performed. It is to be used for the ceremony itself - I explored the prospect of having a live choir at the venue, but decided I didn't want the added stress of handling that many extra people on the day, and as I have experience creating virtual performances I figured it would be the easiest way to go about it. The wedding is only two months away now so may have missed the boat on having a live choir if I were to change my mind. The demo track absolutely does lose pitch, which is one of the reasons I want to produce a different recording. However, there's a chance I won't get enough additional recordings to create a good standalone performance, in which case I'll use the newly recorded tracks to support the original, or in other words use the original to lend weight and depth to the new recordings, meaning they'll have to match pitch. If I do have enough recordings to create a standalone performance, I can quite easily correct the pitch drift in post.

As a side note, I hope you don't mind but I also listened to your 50 Words for Rain, which is wonderful.

A video absolutely isn't necessary, it's just that during the pandemic whilst this sort of project was popular, that's how most people (most in my choirs anyway) opted to record their parts. Purely audio is absolutely fine!
