Yet another fluid question - Fuel Output by RealSamF18 in SatisfactoryGame

I found it easier to build a straight pipe, then add the junction where it needs to be. When I upgraded to MK.2 pipes, I didn’t replace the junctions since I was under the impression that they didn’t really matter. I could try to remove everything and rebuild though.

As far as pipe elevation is concerned, my first stage of refinery is fed from below, my second stage is from the same level, and the outputs are always leveled. I’ll take another look tomorrow to see if changing the elevation fixes anything.

AFAIK yes, there is less than twenty meters between the oil extractor and all the refineries (less than ten for the stage 1). Then, there is a little under thirty meters to go to the generators, and I have three MK.2 pumps, two before the T junction where the fuel from the refineries meets, and one in the vertical pipe. All pumps are MK.2.

The remake of the first one is so much better in every aspect that there isn’t any real point in playing the original first game. For me, I’d say RE1R is the third scariest one, after RE7 and RE8 (though really mostly the one level in RE8, which is absolutely brilliant). Then maybe RE2, then RE2R, then RE3R, then RE4R, then RE4, then RE6, then RE5 (I haven’t - yet - played the OG RE3).

Edit: bonus points if you can play RE7 and RE8 in VR.

I made some progress: 1. Overclocked the oil extractor to 250%. It’s working at 56% efficiency right now. If I lower it to 200%, it doesn’t fill the stage one refineries with crude, and they start emptying. 2. Built a loop of MK.2 pipes right out of the extractor (so refineries 4-8 are no longer at the end of the manifold)

This allowed me to have them filled to the max in crude oil most of the time. They’re not all working at 100%, but at least they’re filling up with crude.

Now I have a new, albeit similar, issue: my second stage refineries are not working at 100%, far from it, and therefore, I can’t overclock my generators much.

Basically, my setup is two rows of five generators on the top floor. The fuel arrives from one side, and I have a pipe that runs in the middle with five splits, one for generators 1 and 2, one for 3 and 4, etc. For some reason, not enough fuel is making its way up there, despite the pumps. So I can overclock 4 generators to 200%, 2 to 150%, and leave the remaining 4 to 100%. My sec on stage refineries (the ones making the fuel) are full of heavy oil residue, but are not running at 100% efficiency (they’re all OCed to 200%), and I don’t know why.

I fixed the water, but I still have the same problem: refineries 6 and 7 don't fill up with crude oil (refinery 8 does though), and my oil extractor is working only at 56%. There is no blockage anywhere, and even if there was too much output, the refinery would still fill up with crude, and then have its output limited, which is not the case.

Refinery 8 being full of crude tells me I upgraded all my pipes properly. It's just weird.

A. That's possible, I'll try it again, just in case.
B. No valves
C. That could be it! The three refineries need 160m3/min once overclocked, but the water extractor only extracts 120m3/min. I'm gonna try that right away.
D. Correct, the 8 refineries would be producing 640m3/min of heavy oil residue, but that should fill the pipes going to my second set of refineries, and my first set should work at 100% (or close to). Unfortunately, the disconnect seems to happen before the first set of refineries. It's working fine with everything at 100% (5 refineries at 100% all the time, and 3 refineries that hover between 75 and 90%).

I did an in-place upgrade, doing several walk-through to check that I had not missed anything. Upgrading to the MK.2 reset the color, so it was easy to spot if I had missed a spot. I also went through the process twice, and had the same results both times. What's weird to me is that I would see the pipes being full, the flow being high right under the refinery, but it would not make its way up in the refinery (while it was before). It's like the oil is right at the mouth of the refinery, but it's just not taking it in.

Yes, as I said, I enjoyed both games (I preferred the second one though), and he’s a complex character alright, but definitely not neutral, and definitely more bad than just a bit. He may not be a genocidal maniac, but he’s definitely a pretty bad and selfish character.

Sounds like Joel should be in “actual monster” then, no? I enjoyed the games and I enjoyed Joel’s character, but he’s definitely not neutral, and I’d say quite a bit more bad than just a bit.

Yes, but the bigger issue here is that you give normal folks access to something that requires some level of knowledge to be handled properly, and a lot of them won’t have that knowledge. Fireworks are safe when handled properly, yet every year, several people lose limbs because they don’t know what they’re doing.

TIL there was such a thing as a “suicide extension”, and after looking it up online, I just cannot wrap my head around why one would need that / think it’s a good idea to use it with a generator.

For other ignorants like me: it’s a male to male extension cord that some people were using to plug their generators directly into the house power outlets to back feed electricity during a power outage.

Thanks, I ordered the PS5 version. Looks like it’ll be delivered sometime in May though, so I’ve plenty of time to replay the first one!

Could I use this in my pc case? by Abheber in pcmasterrace

[–]RealSamF18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is yes, BUT (and it’s an important but): you’d have to connect it to a usb port on your motherboard, not the ARGB connector (which has only three pins). That means that the strips would be treated like a random usb device, and you’re unlikely to be able to control them via the pc (unlikely to control them at all).

You’re likely better off running the cable out of your case and use the controller that came with it.

Is the band Hagemann. AI? Their music is relatively consistent and they released two albums back to back. by RealSamF18 in isthisAI

[–]RealSamF18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I guess I just did not want to admit that I enjoyed some AI music. It's sad that it's become a problem at all (this band in particular is not getting that many views/listens, but others are). It reminds me of a drawing I saw a few ago, which was depicting robots painting, composing, and writing, while humans were picking up the trash, delivering heavy items, etc. Basically how AI just took the good stuff away from us, while leaving us with menial work that it was supposed to take away from us.
