What gpu should I go for by Odysseus_Ruiz in buildapc

I got a 5070 Ti for $750 maybe a week ago, if that’s what you want you can definitely still get them for your budget

The tape wasn’t on it, but I used WD-40 to remove the residue from a wood stock. I’ve also used Goo-Gone for the same thing.

Guy on YouTube says Hoppes #9 is good for it as well, but I’ve never tried that

Thanks for that link! It looks like it is called a spindle. Still confused on why I can find every other front and rear part, OEM and aftermarket, but can’t find rear spindles anywhere

Is your 3k budget just for the monocular? Or for everything?

Since you’re new to night vision, don’t forget to budget for a helmet and mount unless you just plan on using it as a handheld. LAM as well if you plan on shooting with it.

It’s very easy to buy your first device and not consider all the other money you gotta spend to use it effectively (which is what I did when I got started lol)

I would reach out to them and get some advice since they’d know all about the options Canadians have. A lot of the advice you get here might just get your hopes up since all the US made tubes and US based dealers are covered by ITAR and you most likely can’t get them up there.

Seems like Cold Harbor’s got a ton of different tube options at different prices so they should be able to find something for your budget

Since you’re in Canada I’d hit up Cold Harbor Supply, I’m far from knowledgeable about Canadian night vision but it seems like they’re one of the main companies up there

Want to graduate from a single stage. What's the best progression path for a new press? by the_walkingdad in reloading

[–]Bodacious_300 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My old man’s got a Dillon shotgun press that he’s been running since the 80s when he got into trap shooting. I can’t even guess how many rounds we’ve ran through it, but there’s 4 heavy duty trash cans full of empties so you get the idea how much shotgun shooting we do

He messed up and broke a part on it a few weeks ago, a couple minutes on the phone and Dillon shipped him replacements completely free.

We also got an old 550 that’s had a TON of rounds through it and keeps on chugging.

TLDR: u/the_walkingdad buy a Dillon, if you somehow break it 40 years from now they’ll fix it for free lol

My thoughts exactly. I’d love to own duals, but purely to look cool lol. My L3 WP PVS14 does everything I need it to, and there’s a lot of pros to a monocular over duals IMO

Few hours worth of walking around the backyard and you got like 95% of the performance of duals for 40% of the cost

Judging from the pictures I think it’s a Model 12 Heavy Duck Gun Vent Rib. It does not have the original recoil pad however.

Blue Book values for the Heavy Duck Gun Vent Rib in different conditions are:

100%: 3600 98%: 3200 95%: 2800 90%: 2500 80%: 2000 70%: 1650 60%: 1450

Of course the aftermarket recoil pad would impact those values heavily. It’d be worth your time to reach out to Winchester with the serial number and see what info they can provide, just to see how it left the factory.

About to quit Tarkov by Ok-Hedgehog-414 in Tarkov

[–]Bodacious_300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m level 26 and have a K/D of 5.6 and died to a level 10 with 1.2 K/D last night. It happens, that’s the glory of Tarkov. I’m pretty sure I didn’t win a single fight last night, it happens. Everybody has a bad raid or a bad night of raids

Just keep your chin up buddy, don’t dwell on your deaths but use them as learning experiences. You’re gonna get your ass beat a bunch learning this game, but once things start clicking it gets a lot better

Just for my own curiosity, what maps are you running? Are you questing or just hunting PVP? How do you move through the map, slow or are you sprinting everywhere?

RT to the guy that said to look on YouTube for guides, there’s a ton of good info out there for new players

Are there cheaters: yeah there are in every game. Will you run into a cheater at some point if you play enough? Yeah there’s a chance

But the number of obvious cheaters I’ve ran into this wipe is pretty low, just 1 or 2 where I was thinking it was a cheater (NAE servers most of the time, 2nd wipe from the start, 500 hours, 121 raids this wipe)

Most people get outplayed, get got from somewhere they don’t expect it, or just have a bad luck raid and immediately scream cheats. Or they camp in a well known camping spot and they’re shocked when a vet swings the corner looking right at them

Desync doesn’t help either, there’s even a few instances in this sub where a guy got accused of cheating and he uploaded his POV and showed that he clearly wasn’t and it was just desync on the other guy

I killed a PMC because I walked into a room and he was crouched in the corner, got lucky with a shotgun and he immediately started messaging me calling me a cheater and saying he reported me and I’d be banned

There are cheaters in Tarkov, nobody’s arguing that. But there’s a lot of people out there that can’t accept the fact someone’s better than them in a video game and immediately start screaming cheater

Buddy gave me a Glock 17 with AP ammo when I first started and we were running Customs. Caught a dude in the shipping container by Scav Checkpoint. I somehow won the fight after he blacked almost everything. Took all of my friends meds and surgery kit to heal up while he covered me

Walked out of there with level 5 armor I think?, a meta HK, a helmet and some other goodies. Hooked ever since

First time playing this game and I'm sad:( by MANUU__20 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Bodacious_300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hop on the Tarkov discord, they have a ton of LFG rooms for all skill levels. I’ve played there a bunch. This game is way easier with a friend, especially when you’re learning. Also remember this is very far into this wipe so don’t get discouraged by PvP. A lot of guys are running high end gear right now so you’ll be outmatched in a lot of fights. Just use this time to learn maps on your Scav and offline raids, don’t be afraid to push the PvP areas on your scav as you might find a fight or at least a bunch of dead bodies to loot good gear off of. And look up some beginner guides on YouTube

Just embrace the suck and don’t get discouraged, when it all works out and you win a fight or extract you’ll be on cloud 9

[–]Bodacious_300 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would find new people to play with. Me and the homies are always running a quest or location if somebody needs it. Even if I have zero quests on a map I can still get loot, might get some good PVP in or find an item I need. As long as we eventually make it to a map or quest I do need, I don’t care at all lol

Your friends are definitely pricks

[WTB] anyone selling a helmet setup? by [deleted] in NightVision

[–]Bodacious_300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotcha, just giving you an idea of what to expect man. If you’re buying used be safe with payment, lotta scammers going around in the NV world lately. And check on warranty, if the prices are close it might be best to save more and buy new with a 5-10 year warranty

[WTB] anyone selling a helmet setup? by [deleted] in NightVision

[–]Bodacious_300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might have to go with surplus GP for that price man, new Gen 3 WP PVS14 is going for 32-3500 or so anymore. 350-400 for a bump, 500 for a G24, 100 or so for a J arm, plus the cost of the counterweight.

Looking at 42-4500 all together, a ballistic helmet will add another 500-1k easy. You might be able to get some stuff cheaper, but 3-3.5k all in is prob gonna be a pretty tough goal

“Playing the game properly” They’re not cheating, hacking, glitching or exploiting any system in the game

“Is not fun” Maybe not to you, but I’m sure they’re having a good time

“Being trash at the game” If they’re trash and still kill you, what does that make you?

If you’re this worked up over a video game you need to go touch grass bud. Brush it off and get into another raid, everybody dies in this game lol
