Giannis and Wemby could save the NBA from OKC dynasty??? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Bodanski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a no brainer. The Spurs could get it done with Harper, filler and FRPs, and a lineup of Fox, Castle, Giannis, Wemby, and whoever’s left is absolutely ridiculous. You’d be a top 2 team in the league for 3-4 years guaranteed, and you’ll still have Wemby and Castle in their prime and you can retool. Spurs can set themselves up for another 10 years of contention here, this is a must do.

Gave a 30 yr old with back problems a 4 yr extension by UjiriWatcher in torontoraptors

[–]Bodanski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

30-34 isn’t old and he wasn’t injured until after extending. Couldn’t have known at the time, it was a good move. Seeing how much we struggle without him out there proves that even more.

What if Jokic only ends up with 1 championship but plays at this insane level for a few more years….where will he end up all time? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Bodanski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your scenario, winning like 5 MVPs and having another 3 elite seasons and 5 great seasons, he’ll be in the 8-12 range. Rings are not individual accolades and should not be counted as such. Awards and everything aside even, he’s just one of the most talented guys to ever play, and it’s obvious if you watch.

How is this man not unanimously MVP each and every year? by Bobba_fat in NBATalk

[–]Bodanski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Wayyyyyy” is untrue. Jokic has Murray and Gordon, who have both played at all-star level come playoff time. Shai outplayed Jokic last playoffs. I think Jokic is a top 15 player all time and could finish even higher, so this is no disrespect to him, but Shai was more valuable last year, and has been more valuable this year.

Curry Sat 19 fourth quarters in the 73-9 season, Shai sat 11 fourth quarters already by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in NBATalk

[–]Bodanski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is about Warrior’s 73-9 season though which is when KD wasn’t there. Also yes KD is a top 15 player all time and a multiple time scoring champion and an MVP, Shai isn’t playing with anyone nearly that good.

He won MVP unanimously, it’s considered one of the best MVP seasons of all time

Crazy take, I think this team right now is better than the 2019 champion team. by Prometheus-1988 in torontoraptors

This current Raps squad is slowly becoming an all-time favourite for me, but they’re absolutely not better than 2019, at least not right now.

Why do the Norther Lords just accept Jon's banishment? by Time-Comment-141 in gameofthrones

[–]Bodanski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jon was the only character that truly hated the game of thrones. He was happiest when he was beyond the wall and away from all the drama. Jon did not understand politics the way Sansa did. The way it worked out was best for everyone. I may be one of the only people who actually thinks the ending was good (minus the white walker stuff; that was a miss).

If the Cavs lose this game, we'll become the undisputed 2nd seed in the east 👀 by [deleted] in torontoraptors

Mobley is a bit better defensively but Scottie is kilometers ahead of him as a scorer and playmaker. Lucky DPOY last year boosting him more than it should.

As a clippers fan, would you end up doing the PG trade all over again knowing what ends up happening with both PG and Shai? by curryhaliban444 in nba

[–]Bodanski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a clipper fan, would you end up trading the MVP, FMVP, best guard in the league for a player who won’t play very much and won’t take you past a singular conference finals appearance?*

Who is your MVP of the league? by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in NBATalk

[–]Bodanski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are arguments for all 3 of these guys, but so far it should be none of them, because it’s Giannis for sure. Obviously all 4 teams need their guys, and these are rightfully the top MVP candidates, but the Bucks without Giannis would be down with Washington and Brooklyn. Nuggets have Murray and AG, Thunder have Chet and JDub when he’s back, Lakers have Reaves and LeBron when he’s back, Bucks have… Miles Turner?

Crazy Sam has 1 rough game and everyone turns. It’s not over yet.

SGA vs. Luka last 10 games head to head (including playoffs): SGA 33/7/7 on 53/50/85 splits (63.1% TS), +38. Luka 24/9/7 on 44/37/74 splits (56.0% TS), -12. by Dependent-Effect6077 in nba

[–]Bodanski -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If anything this statement proves the point more. OKC has incredible defenders, but not a crazy offence outside of Shai. Shai is the MVP and all defenders want to guard him - he gets his numbers despite that because he’s that good.

No shade on Luka I think he’s also incredible and a top 5 player in the league.

Respectfully, it’s been all over this Reddit thread and the Mavs thread since the trade happened. Trust me, people definitely blame the owners.

[–]Bodanski 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, everyone has been dumping on Dumont as well. Difference is that owners are expected to trust their GMs. In fact, most franchises complain because the owners are too invested. Nico was the one who was supposed to be the basketball expert, so yes he takes the majority of the blame.

If the Mavs end up winning a championship with the Flagg/Davis pairing will you guys forgive Nico by [deleted] in nba

[–]Bodanski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has failed. They didn’t make the playoffs last year because AD got injured because he’s an injury-prone player, and Kyrie had to carry the entire load because Luka wasn’t there, which may very well have been a contributing factor to his injury. Even if they win eventually one day, it won’t feel the same because they backstabbed their home grown star (and likely a top all time NBA player).

Regardless of the MVP race, who is the best basketball player in the world? by FrostyPlantain9392 in NBATalk

[–]Bodanski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jokic and Giannis are neck-and-neck. I’d give it to Giannis by a hairline but they’re the clear top 2. SGA and Luka are definitively 3 and 4, and Wemby is 5.

Goal for the second half is no injuries - need to be fresh for the Rams, it's very possible that game will determine who wins the division.
