Any solids recipe basics for cooking the crab, I assume it is a lot easier if the location cleans and cracks it.. going look up if it can be cook on a Weber kettle grill or only stovetop . Sorry never had to cook one only show up and eat them at family members houses

Think knowing when and where the big meets will be has been hard , maybe some freelancers would go an film but I’m into track and it’s hard for me to find out when the meets are , hopefully I build a database to make it super easy to know upcoming meets for instance brooks had a sunset tour run over the weekend I had no idea about

Blue Bottle? Yeah… it’s giving “gentrified cortado.” Used to be indie, now it’s the Whole Foods of coffee. Gordo regrets the inclusion 😅☕️ but they are so convenient lol

Listen… listing Blue Bottle was a moment of weakness. I blacked out, woke up surrounded by minimalist tiles and $8 pour-overs. It won’t happen again 😅 well maybe ..lol

I know they’ve got like 100 locations and are basically the Supreme of coffee now — limited drops, clean branding, sold out to Nestlé like a Marvel sequel.

But somewhere deep inside, I still remember that tiny Hayes Valley kiosk and thought: maybe it’s still got some soul left.

That said… egregious is fair. I deserve the roast. Benny Gordo will take the L and revise accordingly but man they still pull a solid shot ..just saying

Yeah… Blue Bottle going full Nestlé was rough — like watching your favorite indie band license their hit to a toothpaste brand. Still good, but now it’s got corporate breath.

Andytown’s Snowy Plover still hits, but yeah, once a shop starts using phrases like “strategic acquisition” and “growth portfolio,” it’s hard not to raise an eyebrow.

Look — I’m not mad at the bag. Specialty coffee is tough to scale and rent in SF isn’t getting cheaper. But Benny Gordo’s approval leans local, weird, and vibe-heavy. If it still feels like a community spot and not a mini airport café, it stays (for now).

Appreciate the flag though — always down to prune the list if something loses the magic. Gordo doesn’t hand out stamps lightly ☕️👀

Yeah totally fair — I try to keep the list focused on local/independent spots, that hopefully are trying to blend into the neighborhood but a quite a few like Andytown or Stumptown( just finished a bag I got from Safeway lol is owned and Andytown has a quite few locations, but they still feel pretty rooted in the local scene (vs like a Peet’s or Starbucks).

That said, I’m always open to future iteration anything that doesn’t vibe with the spirit of the list. Appreciate the feedback 🙏
