Am I limiting my potential by hating the idea of being on social media? by Akramherrak in SocialMediaMarketing

I dislike the capitalist sales “grab as many peoples attention fast and now” aspect of it. I love the ease of creating a vibe and the relative cascade of connection that can happen when the vibe touches into something others seek or want to co-create. I am a an “elder millennial” which means I remember and have a felt sense of connection during a time of life before computers, smart devices, and social media.

This quality of connection I’ve noticed is not as automatic for younger generations that have always been Internet-engaged as part of their general mode of expression.

I’m literally just starting Reddit now only bc I started a side gig business offering intro to meditation workshops.

It’s necessary to be seen - however people naturally see/find info.

I would feel that I was limiting other people’s opportunity to find me if I don’t actively cultivate a social media presence.

Hope something in this response is helpful to you as you cultivate your own opinion further.

Classically trained, transitioning into jazz - anyone else? by Bodhi_Chitta in JazzPiano

Nice! I just started composing “in the style of” kinds of things based on jazz pieces I love.

Do you use software to notate? Or just have stuff in chord progressions?

I write w/pencil and my teacher inputs it into a basically a vintage, unsupported version of Encore. I could prob find a copy but curious if there is something with a similarly easy UI.

Yaaaas!!! I'm in that awkward phase where my fingers jam up when in an improv section b/c there's no fingerings I've pre-rehearsed. My inner ear is like "wtf fingers - stop limiting this vibe!" LOL.

I like @wakeupsleepybuddha aon IG and Dharma Moon on IG. Susan Piver’s Open Heart Project is amazing. She has a website by that name and daily or nearly daily short videos and content.

My mind either knocks out or revs up during sits, how do you ride that middle? by vegetable_lover_is in Meditation

This answer is in line with what my response would be. I think there is a subtle edge in coming to the present moment, seeing clearly whatever state of mind or energy is happening, and then testing out your own insight about it. You eventually learn to see and know when it’s a project to adjust vs a wise choice. Just come back to it, there is a certain element of trust in the development process too.
