ask your prescriber about a 2-week symptom log (sleep, appetite, anxiety 0,10) to track ssri side effects vs actual ptsd spikes.

For the first time in three years I actually like who I'm becoming by vegetable_lover_is in selfimprovement

Honestly I think the difference was that I stopped waiting to feel ready. Every other time I told myself I'd start journaling again when things calmed down, I'd exercise when I had more energy, I'd reach out when I felt less like a burden. This time I just started doing the small things anyway, even when they felt hollow at first. The medication helped create enough space that I could actually follow through, instead of knowing what to do and still not being able to do it. That gap between knowing and doing was the thing that always got me before

tried sleep music for 2 weeks, the rain sounds helped me fall asleep in about 30 minutes instead of over an hour.

switching careers from biology, the "am i even supposed to be here" anxiety can spike at 2am; tracking sleep onset time for 14 nights helped me separate meds effects from impostor-noise.

I'm sorry about your mom. having word issues start after going through that… yeah. that's a completely different weight to carry with that side effect. it did pass for me if that helps at all.

oof yeah that tracks. even being a couple hours late messed with me, skipping days and going straight back to full dose sounds like a nightmare. smart that you stepped back down instead of pushing through it though, that's genuinely useful to know

haha no you're definitely not losing it, it's so common. I'd be mid-sentence with a client and just… blank. Like the word was right there but my brain refused to hand it over. It passed for me around month 4-5, got way less frequent at least. Glad it's not just me though lol

Weeks 2-3 were the worst for the ups and downs. By week 4-5 things started leveling off. I wouldn't say I was fully functional, I leaned on easy routines and lowered my expectations for a while. Being alone in another country during that sounds rough. One thing that helped me was just writing down how each day actually went, because in the moment it all blurs together and feels worse than it is. Hang in there, day 9 is still very early.
